It's complete horseshit that the HL did not let other venues make bids to host the tournament.

It's complete horseshit that the HL did not let other venues make bids to host the tournament. It's another 4 years, through 2026. It's a good size venue for the league and in a good location, but the way the Horizon handled it garbage. If IUPUI was halfway decent in men's basketball, there would be a lot more anger.

It's a good size venue for the league and in a good location, but the way the Horizon handled it garbage. If IUPUI was halfway decent in men's basketball, there would be a lot more anger. We're beating a dead horse. Yes, the venue suits the "need" for the league. It is "centrally located" enough for most of the HL fans. Indy is a big sports market, but it's still a garbage decision. The HL doesn't have the fans to necessitate a neutral site playoff. The HL isn't competitive enough or interesting enough to draw in the casual basketball fans that big tournaments do. This continues to be one of the stupidest decisions the league has ever made. It continues to allow lower seeded teams to advance further in the tournament and it has shown time and time again that the best basketball team in the league generally isn't the one who moves on to the NCAA tournament which gives our league a worse seed, worse matchup, and generally a bigger blowout in whatever 16/1 15/2 game we end up in. Having this format makes regular season games less important and allows a team to get hot and steal a bid. The #1 team should be hosting this tournament so the league has the best chance of sending the best team to the big dance in front of their home fans. The league continues to just downright screw the pooch on this.
