Wait, why is Andrew out and Alex who is now 1-8 in? He also got his butt beat on defense.

Glaring stats so far are 53% at the free throw line and 40-30 on the boards.

Nagy loves calling timeout when his team has the momentum. WTH? The funny part is the players know it the same as we do. They were already heading to the bench. You can see the air coming out of them. Literally no other coach in D1 does that. What's worse is that the players know he won't call time out when the other team is making a run. You can see it in the players faces. You can see they feel he doesn't have their back, he will make them suffer until we make a good play and then give them a treat by calling the TO.

Norris 3 point attempt, Noel 3 point attempt, Finke 3 point attempt. There is believing in your players and then there is reality. Horrible coaching, horrible player decision. And don't tell me Noel could shoot a 3 when he was in high school lol. Know your strengths. Not sure I understand your point. Noel is shooting 38% from 3 for the season. I’ll take that out of one of my bigs any day.

And to no one's surprise Norris airballs a 3. At least Alex Hubregtse shots look good coming out. Norris used his whole body and wasn't even close. And he still has him out there even after that. Unfairly long leash. It was pitiful. I have been biting my tongue but it has to be about trying to land his brother. Idk what else it would be. That horrible shot killed the run. Favoritism creeped into this team's rotation and it killed them early and never recovered. From the long leash Amari had, peobably due to his connections to Trice, to Finke-Nagy Illini connection and Norris' brother. I'd bet these are the main reasons for the blinders and why it took so long for Welage and Alex to get a shot. Alex and Welage have outscored Davis-Norris-Finke tonight. Had Welage gotten their minutes this team would be within 10 right now.

Expect more of the same in the near future unless Nagy truly changes some of his basketball philosophy this offseason.

Guess we don't have anyone else that could step in.

All that's left is for the transfer announcements to trickle in. Something has to change.

Can they just hold the ball and run the time out? They’re getting completely embarrassed

And NOW with 1:30 left in the game he finally stands up and coaches. Insane.

May have pissed away a good opportunity with Detroit and RMU both currently winning their games.

Expect more of the same in the near future unless Nagy truly changes some of his basketball philosophy this offseason. He won't and he has no financial incentive too. He won't get canned even Grant or the administration wanted to because of the salary and recent extension. The donors are not going to pony up the funds because of the recent extension. He is the conferences best paid coach and has the best facilities. This is his last coaching stop and he probably is banking on a rebound year with the returnees and recruits to parlay that into one final tourney appearance and one, final extension. Nagy has won 500+ games and isn't going to change at. Where this leaves the program though? This game epitomizes this year. All that said, if Drey Carter and Logan woods return, this team will be better and more athletic than this year. The jeybis going to be Alex and Welage...they both need to come back and get 30 minutes a game for this team to compete. I'm excited to see how the incoming PGs compete against Norris (though we should all fully expect Norris to play 30 minutes a game at the beginning). I personally dont think Trey is back and who can blame him. He gave four years and left a major positive mark on the program. Probably the most exciting player in the program since Dashuan Wood.

Losing Basile and Holden destroyed this team from the beginning. With Finke leaving and the incoming redshirt freshman next year coming in the Raiders will be better than this year. Will Trey Calvin come back next season.
