After 6 minutes without a point and an 11-0 CSU run.

This WSU team is so inconsistent. They could win the Horizon League tourney but the most likely result is a quarterfinal loss on the road.
Needed to win tonight and it's not happening.

CSU seems to have an answer for every little run Wright State makes. How are things at the bar? Outstanding except for the tummy ache I seem to have acquired. I am at Shoeless Joe's Sports Bar and I am $40 poorer.

We're going to lose this game for one reason.
CSU has gotten the ball inside at will and we have not figured out how to stop it for one second. CSU doesn't shoot the 3 well, so this can't be a surprise...failure to gameplan, failure to execute...
This puts us in really poor positioning going into the postseason as well. We could have finished as high as 2, and we're looking square in the face at a quarterfinal road game back up here in Cleveland or down at NKU in 90% of outcomes.

In a must-win game (in my eyes), it's a complete and utter embarrassment. Nagy was completely out-coached and out-classed by a rookie coach dealing with a relatively young squad post-major exodus. Nagy just seems lifeless out there (at least from what I could see on the broadcast). Attitude reflects leadership, and we saw that tonight.

Pitiful performance. Outrebounded 46-28 and gave up 17 offensive rebounds.

Focus now turns to finishing 5-7. Either get a 1st round bye or play IUPUI or GB at home to advance to the QF

I cannot grasp why the man wants to play a small lineup with Finke at the 4 when he has 3 of the better post players in the conference. This is nothing against Finke either. The kid will try to do whatever the staff asks him to do. It's on Nagy for playing him too many minutes and constantly at a position he isn't built for. It's like Nagy would rather lose games than admit he is wrong about playing small ball vs big ball. We got killed in the paint in both rebounding and scoring. Finke played 33 minutes and got 6 points and 4 rebounds. Braun and Sissley got a combined 20 minutes of play and finished with 7 points and 4 rebounds. I think we obviously would have been better served to play 2 of the 3 bigs at all time, and to play Finke at the 2 or 3 and limit his minutes. We are better served to have Alex and Andrew getting the lion share of the minutes at those positions.

We are better served to have Alex and Andrew getting the lion share of the minutes at those positions. I've been saying similar since the start of the season. Why play small so often when you have three big guys who ALL can play? If you MUST play small, the small MUST be Calvin, Hube, Welage and Finke (reluctantly Finke)...that's it...no one else. Taking off the gloves now. Nagy's infatuation with Finke is tragic. Under no circumstances is he a 30+ minutes/game guy. He cannot score. He is careless with the ball. His rope is longer than the court. He is NOT a good defender at the 4 position. If you play 30+ minutes a game, getting 4 rebounds is not an accomplishment. Davis is unfortunately unplayable at the moment. He has been unable to provide anything positive on either end on the court. It is baffling...but it is what it is. I probably feel worse for him than any player in my WSU history/fandom. Norris is so outmatched it is sad. No scoring ability...no playmaking ability...no size or athleticism to defend. He does bust his tail...but so does Neff. Those three guys there ^ STARTED the first half of the season...yet any two of the three simply cannot be on the floor together. The defense is only guarding 4 guys when Finke is in there anyway and has even fewer guys to guard when either/both of those other guys are also in the game. (Disclaimer and apology if I offended anyone: I'm sure they are fine, admirable young men...I commend Nagy for the character of his recruits...but not everyone is a D1 player or playing like Nagy dreams they do/can.) A week ago last night we pounded NKU after they pounded us previously (look at the difference in distribution of minutes in those games). Norris had 4-5 minutes in that game last week...same with Davis. What in the hell happened since last week - with no games played in between - to change that to 20 and 7 minutes? We simply do not have enough good guards to play this maddening 4 guard lineup for any length of time or stretch of games. It's not like we don't have 3 big guys who can play...we do! After the 100th CSU layup last night you'd think playing a bigger guy would be in order. Sisley wouldn't get punked inside...asking Finke to carry that water is unfair to him. It's maddening. Look who is on the floor when we make our runs...and who is on the floor when the other team makes theirs...it's not hard to figure out.
