Thought it might be interesting to track other teams as they make appearances in the postseason. Here's what we know, and what's being reported:
NKU (16) vs (1) Houston. Thursday, March 16 in Birmingham, AL. A 16 seed has only defeated a 1 seed one time in the history of the tournament. (UMBC over Virgina).
YSU - has the automatic bid to the NIT. They are seeded against #1 seed Oklahoma State, but due to arena issues in Stillwater, the game will be AT YSU.
UWM - seeded #11 in the CBI and will open at Stetson.
CSU - seeded #9 in the CBI and will open at Eastern Kentucky.

If UDM bribes their way into the CBI, there needs to be a giant astrick next to Davis's career scoring record.

There already needs to be an asterisk. 5 seasons for Antoine, vs only 3 seasons (freshmen not eligible), fewer games per season and fewer teams in post season, no 3 point shot, and no shot clock (so teams could hold the ball) for Pistol Pete. That's about 5 asterisks. Still a remarkable accomplishment for Antoine.

The CBI won't make their field known until tomorrow evening at the earliest, but head coach Bart Lundy has confirmed Milwaukee will be in the field.

YSU gets a HOME GAME against number one seed Oklahoma State due to staffing availability in Stillwater. Last major time that I can recall that happening in the NIT Kentucky traveled to Robert Morris and got upset.

Cleveland State and Milwaukee are in the CBI. Detroit is not.
Am I the only one who finds that hilarious?

If you follow any of the Detroit media people, there was a lot of talk about Detroit being non-committed about it and the needle tilting towards them being passed over, and that's what happened; the CBI never made a former invitation. I find it hilarious. I've been VERY critical of Davis' long leash at Detroit and, while I realize Pistol Pete had many of the same benefits (dad coaching, getting all the shots), he did it without the 3 point line and with less games. I think this is the right decision, but I certainly wouldn't have blamed the CBI for putting them in, I'm sure the media hype would be great for the tournament.

It's weird - I kinda feel for the kid. He's a ball hog that never saw a shot he didn't like but I don't recall him ever getting in any trouble on or off the court. Hope he doesn't go through life thinking about all the 3 pointers he missed that if he just connected on any one of them he'd have the record. That would eat me up.

YSU lost to #1 seed Oklahoma State 69-64 at the Beeghly tonight. YSU controlled the game after taking the lead 3 minutes in and maintained around a 5 point lead well into the second half. Unfortunately for the Penguins, things fell apart down the stretch when they scored only 5 minutes in 10 minutes of game action. OSU climbed back in front with 5 minutes to play and were able to hold the lead through a furious last 90 seconds.
YSU had em on the hook and the Pokes got away. Would have been a real nice win for the Penguins.

This game is about to get out of hand. Nku looks like and 8th grade team out there.

This game is about to get out of hand. Nku looks like and 8th grade team out there. Didn't see much of the beginning, but seem to be holding their own pretty well right now! 36-34 Houston with 15:44 to go...

NKU represented the Horizon well, not surprised they gave Houston a tough game. Brutal shooting by NKU though, so many terrible long 3 point attempts, but some of the credit to Houston's defense.
