I have received a recommendation to branch out the Recruiting Information into a separate forum.
Benefits: easier access to and search for all recruiting related postings ... independent place for all Wright State (and Horizon League) recruiting.
Disadvantages: two separate forums means two places to visit every time you search for Wright State info and the number of postings in each forum will be smaller, which might make it less attractive for potential visitors.

If anyone wants to get a better idea of what this would look like, take a look at buckeyeplanet.com (registration is free). All threads are listed together but there are forums (recruiting, open discussion, rumor mill, etc.) to which the threads are categorized for quick reference.

UWM already breaks up their board into several sub categories and it works well over there. I think this site is starting to get large enough that it would be worthwhile to have a discussion board and a recruiting board. You have to search back 5-6 pages to find some of our current recruits the way things are set up now. That makes it a little more difficult for the people that come here to read about our recruits, but it also makes it very difficult for those that find all of the information that is posted on each of them. A few years ago, we would be following maybe 2-3 guys for the late signing period and no one for next year yet. Now we currently have ten or eleven 2007 recruits and eleven 2008 recruits we are following. If it isn't any extra expense or too much extra work for admin, I personally think we should have 2 boards. Here is UWM board: uwmfreak.proboards5.com/

i agree with Big D. I know that many of us contribute a lot towards recruiting info and it would be much easier to have a separate section (similar to UWM) so you don't need to sift through pages and pages.

Is there really enough interest for two boards? With all the crossover talk with recruiting and the current team, I like having just one board to talk all things Raider! Looks like I'm in the vast minority, but I don't really get it. It would be different if threads were dropping off the front page in hours. But I like the current set up of the board very much. Did you look at the link BigD provided? There will not be two boards, just a way to quick reference the recruiting forum. Here's the link again, take a look and you will see what we're talking about. uwmfreak.proboards5.com/

I agree Big D, raiderscout, and nybuckeye. It would make it much easier for those of us that find the information on our recruits if there was a separate forum.

I voted against having a separte spot for recruiting but now that it seems we are heading that way I'm all for giving it a try.
We'll never know if we like the proposed new format or not unless we give it a try.
When will we make the switch?
