When the Raiders won the Horizon League tourney, they knocked a "bubble" team out of the NCAA tournament. That "bubble" team (Texas Tech, maybe) will slide into the NIT, perhaps taking UD's spot. Wright State's story: It was a great scene Tuesday night at the Nutter Center. Wright State took out Butler — again — and the place went bananas. The vibe in the building was extremely positive all night. The Raiders expected to win, and the fans fed off that. Before the season, the power brokers at WSU would've been happy with another .500 season. But, obviously, point guard DaShaun Wood and coach Brad Brownell are about as good at their positions as anyone in the country. Here's hoping WSU gets a No. 12 seed tonight, because a 12 seed always beats a No. 5 seed. It's as automatic as a speeding ticket in Oakwood. Brownell has earned a big raise, too. His base salary is $220,000, a mighty good living in the Miami Valley. But, hey, when LSU is dishing out $400,000 per year to Pokey Chatman, you've gotta think WSU's boosters will be passing a big hat.
