SEC schools to split $122 millionFriday June 1, 2007 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) -- The Southeastern Conference will split $122 million among its 12 member schools for the current fiscal year, the league announced Friday. The revenue for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31 is a record for the SEC and represents a 5.1 percent increase from the $116.1 million a year earlier. The revenue sharing includes money generated by television for football and basketball, the football championship game and the SEC and NCAA men's basketball tournaments. In football, the league generated $48.3 million in TV revenues, $23.7 million from bowls, and $13.2 million from the SEC championship game. In basketball, the SEC made $12.3 million from TV, $4.3 million from the league tournament and $20.2 million from the NCAA tournament. The average amount distributed to each school was $10.17 million.
