I was told that as of now we have added and additional 350 season ticket holders. I would think that it would increase a little bit more as the season approaches.
I am glad to see that all the open houses over the summer seem to be paying dividends. I like to see our marketing department being proactive.
Congrats to the athletic department on growing our base.

Season tickets are $188. That's also another $66,000 for the athletic department.

I'm a little disappointed in the increase. After the success of last year and the addition of a good recruiting class, I was hoping that number would have been doubled. I hope walk up ticket sales grows. We should be able to top 7000-8000 every game in this community.

I agree with Big D. Roadtrip reported on rrb that season tickets sales are up 20% over last year. If we sold 350 new season tickets this year, that would put our total number of season tickets at around 2100. We had over 5000 season ticket holders when Underhill was here in the 1990s. We need to keep increasing that number.

big d, we spent 10-12 years tearing down the reputation of our program. it will take more than one year to build it back up. with each year of success more and more will believe and return to the nutter. meanwhile, we will have to generate excitement and get the single game buyers to come out in volume. just like last year. does anyone else think the "free ticket game" is going away this year. with demand up we might not see that promotion again. GO RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!

We had great walk up sales for single tickets at the end of last season, but we were in the middle of the race to win the HL and students were coming out in force then. I bet we still have the free ticket game. Those tickets are paid for by the alumni association. They use the event to promote their organization and to try to increase membership. They pick a game in December when the students are out of school, so I think the game will still happen. I bet we also still see the 2-for-1 DDN tickets at some point in the year unless we are averaging over 8,000 on our own.
The only problem I have with the 2-for-1 tickets are they usually pick a few good games for the promotion. For example, we gave away tickets for the UWM game 2 years ago. UWM is a good game and would have brought in 5,000-6,000 paying customers. If we are going to give away tickets, I wish it would be for the YSU or CSU games where it is hard to get paying customers to come out.

If they are going to have the free tickets they really should offer them for the "lesser" games that normally wouldn't draw a large crowd. I may be wrong but I think we'll have better student attendance on the weekend since all the Saturday games start at 7pm. As for the 20% increase in season tickets.................I'll take it! It's a start to rebuilding what we once had. I would think that the additional $66,000 in "guaranteed" revenue will be a nice boost to the athletic dept.

To me the one good solution to getting more fans to the games is winning. If we can get 20 wins this year I think we will average 6,500 fans a game.
We need to get off to a fast start to help keep the momentum we had last season. With all of our early games being at home we have a great chance to start off fast and really keep the local community on the bandwagon from last season.
