WSU finally made one of the Bubble watch lists. USAToday has us on their Bubble list. I an not starting this thread because I think we deserve or will get an at large bid, but I do think we are a team at least worthy of consideration. Wright State Horizon 19-6, 11-4; 63 The Good:• One Top 50 win (Butler) • 8-3 away from home • 11-1 in last 12 The Bad:• Marist (129) • 14 wins outside Top 100 Analysis: OUT I'm really not sure why the Raiders weren't on here, but a 10-game win streak and a great road record put them squarely in the picture. Have to travel to Butler on the 28th, but better take care of business in the Bracket Buster at Illinois State first. www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/2008-bubble.htm

I've been waiting to show up on ESPN's Bubble watch too. It doesn't make any sense that they are leaving us off. They have several teams with lesser resumes than us. WSU is 19-6 (11-4) RPI: 64, SOS: 148On their Bubble watch:George Mason 18-8 (10-5), RPI: 65, SOS: 125 Virginia Commonwealth 19-6 (12-3), RPI: 66, SOS: 177 Davidson 18-6 (17-0), RPI: 67, SOS: 179 UAB 17-8 (7-3), RPI: 68, SOS: 122 sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bubblewatch?id=68

I am just glad to finally be considered a bubble team. It is positive exposure for the program and it shows that nationally we are starting to generate some respect. I would be shocked if we actually were picked as and at large and I still think our only way in is to win the Horizon League Tournament.

If we were to win out in the regular season and then lose in the championship game of the league tourney I think we would get consideration for an at-large. That would make us 24 - 7 and at least put us in the discussion. I doubt that would be enough to get us in but it would nice exposure to hear the analysts talk about us on Selection Sunday.
We have a lot of work to do before then but its nice to be in position to talk about "what if" at this point in the season.

We lost early on at Marist and they haven't had the kind of season we would like. If we would have played them later in the year, I think we would have won that game. The other thing we have against us is the Presbyterian game. Their 327 RPI knocked us down quite a bit. We were supposed to play in a tournament at UAB in November that fell through when they couldn't find a 4th team. We got stuck playing Presbyterian instead. It is nice being in the discussion though.

I really hope we learn from this mistake in the future. Preseason NIT would be a nice tourney to start the season. I hope it can happen next season.

I really hope we learn from this mistake in the future. Preseason NIT would be a nice tourney to start the season. I hope it can happen next season. I disagree. The pNIT starts on local campuses and we would get stuck playing on the home court of a BCS program like a few years back when we played at Arizona. I would much rather see us play in Maui or one of the other neutral court tournaments where we could play a BCS school or 2 without them having a huge home court advantage.

Good Point Hoopster. The Great Alaska Shootout is another that might be good for us.

A neutral court tournament would be preferred, but we aren't really in a power position to dictate what tournament we will play in. I'd be more than happy to play in the pNIT again.

We jumped to 16th in the Mid-Major Poll. Not that the poll means that much but it can't hurt with name recognition. www.collegeinsider.com/mmpoll/ 1. Butler (30) 24-2 774 1 2. Wow, we jumped from 25th all the way up to 16. Very cool! It may be just the mid major poll but it still shows the growing respect BB has brought to our program.

I didn't realize that Wright State has the 3rd longest current winning streak in the nation. Niiiice!
