Their nonconference schedule sucks. I'm glad we don't have to pay those huge seat license fees they have at UD to see a crappy schedule like this.

The @ Creighton game looks to be a good one. Miami Ohio usually brings a decent team year in and year out. Two teams (Auburn and Marquette) out of the Chicago tourney are pretty tough. Everything else...not so much.
On Reply #51, there's actually a good quote on UD Pride about being a "second rate" program.

I have never come on here and said UD and WSU should play. I have never taken any shots at UD. I took Kissel at his word when he said they wanted to upgrade their schedule and play top 100 or at least top 150 RPI teams.
But now that the Raiders are safely on the south side of 100 in the RPI for two straight years and I think we are near 100 for a three year rolling average in the RPI, I think it is now clear that UD doesn't want to play Wright State for fear of legitimizing our program in the eyes of local sports fans.
UD wants to continue the charade that they are on a whole different/higher level in the basketball hierarchy than the Raiders, they can just keep avoiding WSU, but I think that most sports fans in the Dayton area and beyond that follow college hoops know that both teams are playing at very similar level.
UD's duck and dodge is a joke and it doesn't make their institution look very good.

I've never understood some of our fan's obsession with UD. It's been a decade since we've played them. I seriously hope Bob Grant doesn't expend an ounce of energy trying to schedule them. We don't need to play them to validate our program.

Screw UD. We don't play them so I could care less what their schedule looks like.

I don't want to play them. I just want to make fun of them.

I think we should play UD, it would be a fun game. This would be great for the alumni, students, and supporters of the two schools. It makes sense too seeing that Dayton gave a home and home to Toledo, Holy Cross, SMU and Akron. We are way better than Toledo, Holy Cross and SMU, and I think we are probably better than Akron. UD is going to have a harder time getting a home and home with a BCS program (after seeing them demolish Pitt, and take out Louisville I can't blame any big program who does not want to play them), so they might have to follow the MVC model and schedule other good mid-majors (Yes Dayton you are a mid-major). Wright State is a good mid-major program that is soon to be a great one. Therefore, both programs would benefit from the return of the Gem City Jam.

I don't really care about their schedule but I think its ironic that UD fans bitch and moan about paying for home games against teams like Wofford but can't wait to spend the money on the play in game to watch teams of the same caliber or even worse.

UD fans HAVE to buy tickets to the play in game if they want to purchase NCAA tickets for the arena. That is just another way UD screws their season ticket holders.

By the time that they pay for a personal seat license and tickets, their season ticket package costs twice as much as the typical Wright State package. They deserve better for the money that they pay.
