Subsequent to efforts around the game, the university will slowly being branding the Nutter Center, so it has a stronger affiliation with the team. For example, the athletic department plans to paint a mural of great players that will grow each year and it will add league signage.
John Siehl, executive director of the Nutter Center, also said the effort will be placed to brand the Nutter Center as the home of Wright State athletics. To that point, the two organizations will share a sales person, who will jointly market the team and the arena to sponsors.
Grant said the athletic program’s roughly 20 sponsors have remained flat over the years, but the new staff and focus should grow it.
Aside from the changes, athletic officials are hopeful the basketball team shines on the court, which always is a recipe to draw more fans. The team is picked to finished second in the Horizon League this season.wrightstate.proboards1.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1622This was an encouraging quote from one of the articles posted earlier this week. Sounds like Corey Griest and bob Grant have big plans for WSU.

What happened to Chris Collins? I thought he was promoted to Promotions Director last year.

Corey Griest is Director of Promotions. Chris Collins is Manager of Athletic Promotions. I don't know what the difference is or who reports to who. I just found them both listed on WSU's athletic site. wsuraiders.cstv.com/staffdir/wrst-staffdir.html

I'm glad we are hiring guys with good experience, but I'm really happy we are hiring guys with WSU ties. I was very happy last year when we promoted Chris Collins. He is a true Raider through and through. I think it is so much easier for someone to promote something they care about than someone coming in and just working for a paycheck. With Corey Griest's ties to WSU, I hope he is just as passionate about WSU as Chris Collins.

Cards are backBasketball trading cards are back. The Raiders will hand out one free card at every home men's basketball game this season, compliments of Arby's. Other promotions this season will include free food, a Saturday night kid's zone and — still to be scheduled — The ZOOperstars. The Hall of Fame game is scheduled for Feb. 7 when the Raiders play Butler. The highlight of that night will be the Hall of Fame inductions of former WSU coach Jim Brown and former Assistant Athletic Director Paul Newman as well as the 1983 Division II national championship team. www.daytondailynews.com/s/content/oh/story/sports/college/wsu/2008/11/05/ddn110508spinside.html

When was the last time WSU gave out these trading cards? It's been quite awhile. I think Schillings was our coach the last time we gave them out, but I could be wrong. I don't have kids, so I don't pay much attention to the promos geared towards kids.
