I would have to think with the game being free and all the promotions to go along with that it will get us at a minimun of between 8-10,000 fans.

I hope so too. This is a great way to get fans in the door.

We better get at least 8000 with all of the advertising we are doing for this game.

I was disappointed with this number as well, although the student section was full.

It looked like a lot more that 6371 to me.

Last year Illinois State University had 6,089 in attendances at their home. So our 6,371 is not too bad. I was hoping for more and the Nutter Center did look great! Go Raiders! But those were 6,089 PAYING fans. We were giving tickets away and only brought in 6,371.

Jury still out on Wright State's decision to give away product By Sean McClelland Staff Writer Monday, November 17, 2008 Not sure whether Wright State's latest scheme to entice warm bodies to the Nutter Center for men's basketball was a stroke of genius or just plain foolish. In case you missed it, anyone showing up Saturday, Nov. 15, wearing WSU apparel was admitted free to the opener, won 69-61 by Illinois State. The theory is straight out of Marketing 101: Expose consumers to your product by whatever means in the hope that some might come back later and buy it. That's all well and fine, but while a good product doesn't always sell itself, nothing cheapens one faster than giving it away. And what about season-ticket holders? I'm told they received some kind of concession, but is such a promotion fair to your most loyal customers? It kind of makes the school look desperate, especially when head coach Brad Brownell challenges the community to turn out 8,000 to 10,000-strong for the opener or risk "missing the boat" and just 6,371 show up — a decent crowd for an entertaining game but not exactly the hoped-for storming of the turnstiles. Tough sell, WSU hoops. Has been since popular coach Ralph Underhill was told to clear out more than a decade ago. Many fans never came back. It got so bad early this decade that two players, Cain Doliboa and Jesse Deister, issued a public plea for fan support, stressing its on-court benefits. Perhaps desperate times call for desperate measures, but when you're giving away the product, maybe it would be better to schedule a less formidable foe. Because there's one sure way not to attract new fans, and that's to lose. www.springfieldnewssun.com/s/content/oh/story/sports/college/wsu/2008/11/17/ddn111708spaudible.html

I also like what WSU is trying to do to bring in fans, but Saturday's turnout was a disappointment. I don't understand what people are waiting for in Dayton area. They are missing out on good basketball.
On a sidenote: I really like the upgrades to the Nutter Center.

I thought the lounges were pretty cool. Those leather chairs were quite comfortable. Also, I wish there was a picture of everyone with their glow sticks on when it was dark. That was an amazing sight to see.
