By Marc Katz Staff Writer Saturday, November 15, 2008 Scottie Wilson was on his way to the Cincinnati airport Friday, Nov. 14, after signing a contract to play professional basketball with the Kryvbasbasket team in the Ukraine Basketball League. "I'm not sure of the city it's in, but it's right next to Kiev," said Wilson, who played for Wright State University the past three seasons. "They've already played some games and needed someone to score and rebound." Kryvbasbasket is located in Kryviy Rig, in the Eastern part of the Ukraine, and was 8-4 when Wilson signed. Wilson's deal, which was not disclosed, was orchestrated by his agent, Marc Fleisher of New York. Wilson, a 6-foot-6 forward from Middletown, scored 9.8 points for the Raiders as a senior and led the team with 7.2 rebounds per game. Since the school season ended, Wilson has been working out while looking for a pro job. "I was waiting for a call from the CBA, but this call came first, and I'm really excited," Wilson said. "I'm going to go see what it's like, and my family will be able to visit later."

Way to go Scottie. I still remember when you could hear the boo birds when Scottie was a sophomore.
