WSU never offered Rayshawn Goins, Greg Gainey, or the majority of kids on these lists. May have recruited them and gave them the time of day, but never offered. Rayshawn Goins still needs about a million hours this summer to graduate from what i hear, so that would have been risky to say the least.
Also, schools can announce the signing of anyone regardless of whether the period ended. the signing period only makes the NLI a binding document, where both parties need a reason to "get out" if so desired.

Schools can announce the addition of a player after the late signing period, but I cannot think of a time in the last 20 years where Wright State did announce a late addition before that player was enrolled in summer classes. I think Wright State does this to avoid looking foolish if the kid changes his mind at the last minute and decides to go to another school. Without a LOI, the kid can go anywhere he wants without repercussions until he officially enrolls in the university. That may change now that Donlon is coach and we might start announcing late additions when they commit, but Wright State hasn't done that in the past.

Is Matt Vest still growing? I know he needs to bulk up to be able to play at this level, but it would be nice if he added a few inches in height as well.

Matt should really only be entering his senior year of high school based on his age. He did grow an inch between his junior and senior year og high school. Based on that, he might still end up growing another inch or 2 before he sets foot on a court as a Raider. Only time will tell. If he grows more or not, Matt has a great deal of upside if he continues to put in as much hard work as he has in the last 2 years.

CJ’s Vest earns scholarship a year early www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/wrightstatesports/entries/2010/06/10/cjs_vest_earns_scholarship_a_y.html?cxtype=feedbotMatt Vest, a recent Chaminade Julienne graduate, has received a scholarship from Wright State beginning next season, changing his plan to walk on for a year. The 6-foot-4 Vest had committed to the Raiders before his senior season and said he planned to pay his own way while redshirting next season before taking a scholarship beginning with the 2011-12 season. After a few roster moves, WSU coach Billy Donlon chose to grant a scholarship to Vest after his strong senior season at CJ. “His development from last year at this time to now is tremendous,” Donlon said. “(Former) coach (Brad) Brownell and I would talk even in January about, if something happened and there was a scholarship open, he had earned it.” After averaging about 7 points and 6 rebounds as a junior, Vest became one of the Greater Catholic League’s best players as a senior while scoring 15.3 points and grabbing 5.1 rebounds per game. Vest, whose father Mark is one of Wright State’s all-time best players, will be one of seven newcomers to the WSU program next season.

It looks like we might have thrown in the towel on 2010 recruiting a week too soon when we gave Vest our last scholarship. I just read in the Coaching Carousel thread that Indiana State's head coach just resigned. Some of his recruits could decide to opt out of their LOI to Indiana State now. One such player is Jake Kitchell, who is a 6-9 Indiana All-star center and former WSU recruit. wrightstate.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=recruiting&thread=1841&page=1
