Two trips to Chicago next season for RaidersBy Marc Katz January 12, 2010 FAIRBORN — It appears Wright state will make at least two trips to Chicago next basketball season as the Raiders have signed a contract to play in the Chicago Invitational Challenge (CIT). That tournament involves playing two games at home against opponents the CIT chooses, then two games in Chicago. The two home games will be played just before Thanksgiving. The two games in Chicago just after. The two teams WSU will play in Chicago will come from a group of three — Arkansas, Southern Illinois and Purdue. When the Horizon League season begins, the Raiders will take another trip to Chicago to play Loyola and Illinois-Chicago, usually on a Thursday and Saturday. www.daytondailynews.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/dayton/wrightstatesports/entries/2010/01/12/two_trips_to_chicago_next_seas.html?cxtype=feedbot

This is a great tournament for WSU. We get 2 home games out of it and we get a chance to play 1 or 2 BCS programs on a neutral court. You can't beat that.

I like the tournament, but I don't know if we will have a team capable of competing in it next year. We are going to be very green next year especially that early in the season.

Win or loose, this is a good tournament for WSU. It's good exposure. It's good for recruiting. It's good for our RPI/SOS. and it will help prepare us for our season.

This sounds like a great tournament for us. Four games that count as one, two home games, and 2 quality teams on a neutral court. I can hardly wait. Yes, we'll be a bit green, but this is exciting news.
