Anyone know who runs the @butlerbb twitter account? Pretty low-class move to send a 'rub your nose in it' tweet to Cody Zeller right after the game ended. @czeller40 hey cody! As classy as Butler's coach and team has been this year, their fans have been the exact opposite. Any true fan would be embarrassed to read their message board this year. It's a shame that their so called fans represent their team so poorly. What, the constant talk of divorcing us and running off with Dayton and Xavier hasn't endeared you to the Dawgies? In all seriousness, their board has some real idiots. But all of our boards do. Their problem is just extrapolated by the fact that there are so many people there, it's easy to get lost in the douchebaggery. I find most of them to be good people.

bball, their has been a show running on espn during the tournament, something like "panel of experts" or some such title. i have watched it several times. paul biancardi was on it, a former coach named guardio, an espn guy named katz, jimmy dykes and a number of other folks. in the past week one of them made the specific point, and several others agreed, that butler's two runs in the tournament, whether they win tonight or not, will bring major advantages to their coaches in the recruiting arena. that there are very few top recruits who would not at least consider them and some choose them because they have shown themselves to be capable of winning it all. that they will be getting into living rooms that raider coaches would not even get a sniff of. if you really think some high quality recruit is going to watch them run thru these bcs programs to get to the finals x 2 and then think boy that horizon league is tough i think i will sign with loyola, well you are just not being realistic. given that they have already been outrecruiting us by oh... maybe light years, this just does not bode well for our chances to pass them in the next 5 years or so.

Blah, Blah, Blah. You need to stop talking about the BS those talking heads keep saying. Before the HL tournamentsome of those same talking heads didn't even have Butler getting into the dance. Throughout the tournament NONE of them picked Butler to win a single game prior to the VCU game. They didn't even expect them to get by ODU. So I don't give 2 cents what they have to say. I remember hearing the same BS last year about Butler too after they went undefeated in the HL and went to the NC game. People said Brownell and pmck left the HL for coaching jobs where they wouldn't have to compete against Butler. People said no one would be able to compete with Butler this year again. Guess what. They didn't dominate the HL. They didn't even win the conference outright. UWM was the official first place team in the HL. They swept Butler. We beat Butler. Valpo beat Butler. Hell, YSU beat Butler. Butler may sign better recruits in the future. So what. Haven't you learned a thing from playing against them for the last 15 years. Butler has had a whole lot of success in the NCAA tournament over the years and in their OOC schedule against teams that sign high rated recruits. Butler did this without any such high ranked recruits. They did it by playing good team basketball. I like what Coach Donlon has done with putting together his staff and the recruits he has signed so far. I expect to see us dancing in the next few years as well.

yes, country, i have learned that they work their way thru the ncaa tournament while we sit on our butts watching the post season pass us by. you do see that don't you?? There are several things we need to improve to get us to an at large consideration level. None of those things have anything to do with your little tirade about Butler above. Their success is not keeping us down nor will it prevent us from having our own success. We need to improve our scheduling and win more of those games. We need to improve recruiting. We need to stay healthy and we need to improve our strength and conditioning. There is no reason we cannot improve those things and get into the post season, no matter what happens to Butler.
