Timmy Knipp commits to EKU Elliott County's Timmy Knipp, who led the state of Kentucky in scoring last season as a junior at 31.1 points a game, has committed to Eastern Kentucky University. The 6-foot-8 Knipp picked the Colonels after also holding offers from UTEP, Duquesne, Marshall, Radford, Tennessee Tech and James Madison. "I liked (EKU's) style of play," Knipp said. "I really liked their coaches and it’s close to home." Knipp was the only starter back for Elliott County last season and helped the Lions to a 20-8 record and semifinal spot in the 16th Region Tournament. He also averaged 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 blocked shots, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals a game. He's already scored 1,873 points during his career. The third commitment for the Class of 2011 at EKU, Knipp joins Clark County guard Robbie Stenzel and Newburgh, Ind., Castle forward Eric Stutz as players that will sign with the Colonels in November. jodydemling.courier-journal.com/2010/08/timmy-knipp-commits-to-eku.html
