Howloween Hoops Set for October 28 Sept. 27, 2010 After a night of great success and family fun last October, the Wright State men's and women's basketball teams will once again hit the Nutter Center floor to host Howloween Hoops. The event will be open to the public as a night for trick-or-treaters as well as a chance to see the players in action before the season starts. An overwhelming hit last year, that saw thousands of fans show up, Howloween Hoops is back on Thursday, October 28, at the Nutter Center as the gates open at 6:00 pm. Close to 50 tables and booths will be manned by WSU student-athletes and student organizations on the concourse level for trick-or-treaters and fans. WSU cheerleaders, dancers and pep band will be on hand to entertain throughout the night as the teams will take to the floor for drills and exhibitions at approximately 7 pm. Both teams will be introduced with quick speeches by the coaches and team captains. The evening will also include a costume contest judged by the players. A special treat for season ticket holders will be a private opportunity to meet the players and coaches in the Berry Room that evening. Season ticket holders will receive more information about this event through the mail. Fans may still purchase season tickets by calling Corey Griest at 937-775-2804. Ticket information can be found at wsuraiders.com. www.wsuraiders.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/092710aaa.html

Any word on a 3 point shootout and dunk contest like this past year?

If anyone is on the fence about going this year, I would recommend going. This is the only chance to see Julius Mays this year. He is allowed to partipate in this event even though he is red-shirting.

I wish we ran this like UD runs their yearly blue and red scrimmage. Instead of all of the Halloween BS, they just put on a good scrimmage where their fans get to see their new players for several quarters of game action. It's not worth sitting through all of the other BS for the 10 minute scrimmage WSU puts on at Howloween Hoops.

Maybe that will change this year with Coach Donlon in charge.
