We need to break out of this 100-150 area. I wish 4 HL teams were in the top 50.

We need to break out of this 100-150 area. I wish 4 HL teams were in the top 50. If we beat CSU, we're there. Also, as much as I don't want to admit it, the philosophy behind scheduling those D-II teams is starting to look a lot better.

the philosophy behind scheduling those D-II teams is starting to look a lot better. Can you explain why? I'm still new understanding the nuances outside of the on court play.

the philosophy behind scheduling those D-II teams is starting to look a lot better. Can you explain why? I'm still new understanding the nuances outside of the on court play. Non Division 1 games do not factor into your RPI. Thus, as far as your RPI is concerned, it's actually better to play a couple of DII/NAIA teams to round out your schedule versus playing those games against a D1 team with a 250+ RPI. As a mid major it is very difficult to get quality non-conference opponents to come and play you in your gym. Therefore, coaches and ADs are stuck with the prospects of playing those bad D1 teams at home, bringing in a couple of non D1 teams, or pissing off season ticket holders and playing a significant portion of their non-conference schedule on the road.

Right. And the biggest reason we're doing this now is because it hurt us last year. If two teams have the same record the HL tiebreaker is determined by RPI. We were bumped out of a bye to the semis and had to play two extra rounds because CSU played a couple of D-II teams.
