With Senior Night coming up and Vaughn finishing up a decorated career at Wright State I got to thinking about players getting their number retired. I know I read somewhere that we retired Bill Edwards number but that was before my time following the program and we don't list it on his banner in the Nutter Center. What number did BE wear with Wright State?
And second, should we consider honoring any other players? DaShaun? Vaughn? Vitaly? Or as a very young University should we leave that honor to just BE for now?
Thought it would be interesting to hear some other people's opinions...

Bill Edwards wore # 42. I'm going to date myself and tell you I saw all of Bill's home games and several road games. Also, he is the only player autograph I ever asked for. I got it as he came out of the locker room with Coach Underhill after his last home game on Senior Night.

You can make a good argument to retire Dashaun Wood's number too based on his career stats and his teams success at WSU. He was also HL POTY. I don't think we would ever retire Vitaly's number. He left WSU early and I do not think he ever finished his degree here. He had a successful individual career at WSU but did not elevate his team to much more than a 500 team. He also promised a large donation to WSU and never followed through on it.

I would like to see a little more representation for Bills number being reitred, the common WSU fan 90% of the time (exageration, not based on a poll) doesnt even know that there is a retired number, we do have the banner for Bill, but id like to see a big #42 on there, just my opinion.
as for retiring another/more numbers. Dashaun Wood would be next, and Vitaly would be 2nd... although in my opinion Dashaun's would be the only other one that i would retire right now

I think DaShaun will be the next Raider to receive this honor.

The only thing in Vitaly's defense, is the teams he played on didn't have a lot other offensive opitions. If those teams had a couple of consistent outside shooters on them, they would have done something. Instead Vitaly was often triple teamed every night.

Which # would be retired for DaShaun? He wore #1 for his first 3 seasons and then switched to #5 for his senior year.
