Did anyone see this coming? I hope Billy has his eye on a Juco point guard.

I'm not surprised by Clark at all. He didn't seem happy at the end of the bench. I am a little surprised about Cartharn. but I still didn't see him at PG.

March 28, 2011 Cartharn, Clark Decide to Leave Raiders
DAYTON – Freshman Kegan Clark and redshirt sophomore Darian Cartharn have decided to leave the Wright State University men’s basketball team. Clark, a 6-4 guard from Jeffersonville, IN, averaged 8.1 minutes over 24 games with an average of 1.2 points per game. Cartharn, a 6-0 guard from Canal Winchester, OH, did not play this past season due to an ACL injury. As a freshman, he averaged 1.0 points over 27 games. “I wish Darian and Kegan great success in their future endeavors as student athletes,” WSU head coach Billy Donlon said. Wright State finished with 19 wins in Donlon’s first year as head coach.

I wish the both well.
Is this what college basketball has become? Kids transferring all over the place? I think their expectations are too high. If your coming into a mid major as a freshman, you should not expect these large amounts of minutes. imo

He barely saw the court as a freshmen and we are bringing in 2 guards in Cuffee and Griffin that will most likely move ahead of him on the depth chart. I don't get Cartharn's decision to leave. It sounded like he had a chance to start next year and he will have to sit out another year after transferring unless he goes D2.

Hopefully both of these young men find the right situation for themselves quickly and are able to resume their basketball careers and studies in the right situation. I'm sure they'll both do well for themselves and I wish them nothing but the best.

Good luck to both young men. I hope they both find a program where they get the playing time they are looking for.

Well we all kinda knew that a player or two might be leaving the program since coach Donlon was still actively recruiting multiple players. If Cartharn and Clark didn't anticipate much playing time then I can't blame them for wanting to look at a school where they can increase their minutes. Who knows where they'll end up but I have a hunch it will be DII for both which probably will mean major minutes and a chance to lead. I wish both of these young men nothing but the best in both the classroom and in basketball. This really does help a great deal with our unbalanced class especially if coach can fill them with JUCO's. It would give us 1 senior, 4 juniors, 4 sophmores, and 4 freshman. It wouldn't surprise me if they bank one of the scholarships ( assuming they can't land an impact player ) for next year since we only have 1 to offer. In my perfect world we would sign a JUCO big man who can defend and rebound and a JUCO point guard. So what JUCO's has coach been looking at?

I don't think we are going to sign another post player. The only post we had any interest in signing was Bielfeldt. We haven't even been mentioned with any other posts. My guess is we sign 2 guards and I think we will try to add at least 1 JUCO.

You hate to see players leave, but I am excited to see who Coach Donlon can bring in with these 2 scholarships.
