Wasn't this the same firm WSU fired after 1 year because they didn't do a good job marketing us. I remember something with the student group finding some sponsorship and IMG not being flexible with some of those sponsors. If it is the same firm, I sure hope they do a better job with the conference then they did for us, and not screw things up worse than they are now.

I wonder how this affects the HLN? Sounds like they will be selling commercial time for the HLN. I doubt the broadcasts change much beyond that.

If I'm reading it properly, this won't have an effect on WSU outside the commercials played and the ads on broadcasts. Also, this is NOT the same group that we brought in a couple of years ago (unless there was a name change). That group was Nelligan's Sports Marketing. They've been successful at other colleges, but it was clearly a raw deal for WSU. bballraider is right about the student group thing. Wright-Patt Credit Union donated a ton of balloons with their logo on them to the student section. The Nelligan's rep flipped out because WPCU was getting advertising within the Nutter Center and they weren't getting a cut. They tried to block the things from entering the building because they weren't sanctioned by NSM. Fortunately the administration recognized that a few extra bucks wasn't worth straining their relationship with a huge sponsor and the student body as a whole.
...but that's beside the point. This is the league office selling ads for championships. We should be fine on our own.

That gives me a little more faith in the league's decision.
