They didn't do any research into the HL if you read the article. They don't even know Julius Mays can play this year. They wrote that he will be able to play after christmas.

That's a pretty irrelevant mistake as far as the conference season is concerned. He'd miss two games. I think Jimmy did alright, honestly. It's not super detailed, but it gives a pretty decent overview.

My mistake. I thought he had transferred at the semester break. It doesn't change my mind on predictions.

I stand by my comment. You didn't do any research. WSU has NEVER finished as low as 9th place in the HL and anyone who thinks we will finish that low this year doesn't have a clue.

Eh, research just gives you facts. His opinion of projected finish is something altogether different.
I do agree that 9th is probably too low, though. UIC in the basement is a foregone conclusion. With a first year coach, Courtney Stanley out for the year and Jordan Hicks' return from multiple foot injuries still a big question, I'd put the Raiders ahead of Loyola as well.
After that I'm going to have to wait and see what I come up with. I've only done my writeup for 5 of the 10 teams so far. (Hurry up with the roster, Valpo!!!)

i have seen several predictions thusfar and they have all been ugly. i do not expect to see any much better. if someone picks us 6th that will probably be as good as it gets. that said, i will be amazed if anyone but ysu is 10th in this league.

I don't think you really need to worry about a HL preview written by a fan of another HL team. The guy isn't an unbiased journalist. He's just a fan who knows next to nothing about our team except what he has read about us on the internet (and he didn't even get that all right). Blue Ribbon is the only preseason magazine I care about. They actually do quite a bit of research ino each of their write ups.

I don't expect any of these rags to write much good about us because no one knows much about this team. We have a whole bunch of new faces. The last time we were predicted to finish pretty low in the HL was Brownell's first year at WSU. We had a few good returning players and next to no bench depth. I don't worry about these predictions because we all know how that team turned out. You win games on the court, not in a magazine.

I would probably change these rankings now that Courtney Stanley is out for the season.

College fantasy hoops insider Horizon Preview1. Butler Bulldogs 2. Detroit Titans 3. Cleveland State Vikings 4. Wisconsin-Milwaukee 5. Valparaiso Crusaders 6. Loyola Ramblers 7. Wright State Raiders Losing your top scorer always hurts. Losing your top four scorers hurts much more. Cole Darling is the leading returning scorer for the Raiders, after averaging 4.3 points last season. It won't be an easy start either for Wright State, playing at Ohio State and Florida within the first ten days of the season. After a very respectable 19-14, including a 10-8 conference record last season, the Raiders will be lucky to reach .500 this season. They also play Cincinnati during non-conference play. One thing that Wright State does have going for them though is the future. They only have one senior on their roster, Johann Mpondo. While they will be very inexperienced this season, plenty of players will get quality playing time this season, which bodes well for the future of Wright State basketball. 8. Green Bay Phoenix 9. UIC Flames 10. Youngstown State Penguins www.collegefantasyhoopsinsider.com/article/18319/Conference-Profiles-Horizon
