If UC does suspend a few players as expected for this game, we have a really good chance to pick up a win vs a big name program. This game could really help WSU rebuild some excitement in the program. We should have a good crowd for this game. I hope we have a bunch of recruits coming as well.

I've talked to a few people who are now coming to the game as a result of the X/UC brawl. So our ticket sales may be better than expected since all I've been hearing is how ticket sales aren't good for this game at all.
That being said I've also seen some posts on twitter from WSU students who plan to cheer on the Bearcats, so this is a game we really need to prove our status as a program to our students and fans.

Yancy Gates definitely will not play. The NCAA has a rule that anyone who throws a punch during a game is automatically suspeneded for at least one game. I suspect the NCAA will suspend others as well, and based on Mick Cronin's comments, he may suspend players that get a pass from the NCAA. It will be an interesting game on Wednesday.

From the article: Officials amended the postgame box score and ejected Cincinnati's Yancy Gates and Cheikh Mbodj, as well as Xavier's Dez Wells. Based on NCAA rules, the ejected players will miss the next game.

The great thing about beating a Greater-Cincinnati area team (Miami) is that the result usually gets heavily published in area newspapers, television stations, radio stations, web sites etc. It really gets our name out there when we win down here. Beating UC would be huge for us, even though there would (will) be many that will DIMINISH a win against UC due to the (likely) suspension of some of their key players....regardless, a win would be huge in getting our name out in the Cincinnati area. Let's get a W, baby. That being said I've also seen some posts on twitter from WSU students who plan to cheer on the Bearcats. And this....just makes me mad. Sort of why I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with my fellow WSU student population. CARE, STUDENTS!!! CARE!!!!!!!

I would suspect UC will rally after the suspensions and will bring their 'A' game so the Raiders will need to be ready. Cant help but respect the way Cronin has responded to this. I dk what is going on at Xavier but I can't see how they do not suspend Holloway and Lyons they were right in the middle of it. Mack should never have allowed them to speak to the press afterwards, in fact I can't believe the callous attitude X has showed after the incident. I have lost all respect for their program.
As for WSU students who will root for UC what a shame they have no pride in their school. They are lucky they do not have to pay the inflated prices and credit requirements that UC inflicts on its students. Having attended both universities I will always pull for WSU over UC. IMO WSU is a much better academic institution.

I think UC and their Coach have taken immediate and strong actions in this case. It is important that the WSU team, fans, and students behave in an appropriate showing of sportsmanship on Wed. night. The last thing WSU needs is for some inappropriate yelling at the Bearcat team. I suspect the suspended players will not be at the Nutter Ctr. on Wed. The players that are there are not guilty of any inappropriate behavior in the Xavier game. And Coach Cronin deserves a welcome reception from our crowd, a standing ovation for him would be appropriate IMO. Had the refs listened to his pleas the whole incident could have been avoided. In my view, the refs should be suspended as well.
Now it is time for X to show what they are made of as well. The X guys that were talking trash should also be suspended.
