Also- don't forget, if we are the regular season championship, but the bracket doesn't play through and someone else gets the NCAA bid we are AQs for the NIT...which would be better than the CIT. Granted, I'd rather win the Horizon league regular season AND the tournament...But the way this league has shook out so far, anybody can win this league.

As always I'm just talking through my hat, but I suspect WSU would be willing to accept an invite this year. As for Brownell, he went to the NCAA his first year. After that he was always looking for other offers and anything less than the NCAA or the NIT wasn't part of HIS plan. So there were always reasons for turning done invitations, and some of the reasons were certainly legitmate or seemed so.
But the best reason for accepting an offer is that we return everyone next season and the extra time in practice and games would be a big boost for the team. Not only would they get the practice time, but they would probably play some of our toughest opponents of the year. Plus if we stay home and other HL teams accept bids it makes WSU really look bad IMO. We have a great shot ar the NCAA or NIT next season, turning done such a bid would take a LOT of wind out of our sails.

I'm surprised that Reggie is 9th, but not that he is near the bottom. There are some good PGs in the HL. I don't see Reggie being one of them. That's why I keep thinking that Drummond or Vest should be in that slot. Had Brownell not recommended him I don't think Reggie would even be at WSU since Billy accepted him sight unseen and put him in the starting position from the outset. He is a good young man and has his moments on the court. Will he improve? I hope so, just as any sophomore should, but I suspect he will not be at the top of the HL. Frankly I was shocked when he was picked second team all league in the pre-season picks. Given the stats reported here I don't think he'll be selected at years end. Unless of course the voters can't admit they were in error with their pre-season picks. That is a human trait we all share.
