It doesn't look like they are broadcasting the game online.

Game Notes From Idaho: www.govandals.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17100&ATCLID=2057267142 THINGS OF NOTE: 1) According to the notes it looks like the game may be video streamed online (for a price) at VandalsXtra ( www.nmnathletics.com/PremiumVideo.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=17100) 2) I don't know if anybody noticed this but an Idaho starter Kyle Barone ( who had 21p, 14r, 3b against us last year) was arrested for DUI. He was arrested and checked twice at the Pullman Police Station with .194 and .178 BAC levels before being released. (I am guessing he probably pleaded it down because it was a first offense). He was suspended indefintely on 10/8/12. It lasted for an inter-squad scrimmage and 1 of the 2 exhibition games, but he will be back for their opener against Wright State. Pretty interesting how different coaches treat the same offenses. Here's what the Vandals coach said about the incident: Idaho men's basketball player Kyle Barone has been suspended indefinitely by coach Don Verlin for a violation of team rules. My job is to educate student-athletes and to teach them how to conduct themselves on and off the court," Verlin said. "We have challenged Kyle to become a first-class student and resident of Moscow. How he responds will determine his status on our team." Verlin said Barone's status will be re-evaluated as the season progresses. (Really???)

Sledge's suspension really puts us in a bad spot. We are going to have to play undersized a lot against Idaho and also hope AJ can stay out of foul trouble. That is something he hasn't had any success with in his career at WSU.

I don't intend to be a naysayer, doubter or troll in any way and hope Tavares bounces back from whatever mistake he made with the help of his teammates ASAP. But last year, before the season had even begun, Sledge was in a class with me and he and his friends came in late and left early about half of the days and in no way was I impressed with his failure to set a proper example for the rest of the students. But I really hope his personal life is straightened out soon so he can get back to the game he loves. We've got your back, T.S.

goraiders93, "we've got your back"? By being a tattler? Don't know if it is even true or is something being repeated this year but, tell a coach not a message board if players aren't representing the university as expected. I wouldn't speculate what the problem was...none of my business.

Wow, I can't express a simple fact and opinion that our student athletes should be held to a higher standard....on a MESSAGE BOARD? It's absolutely true. Forget it. It's the coaches responsibility to hold them accountable, not mine, but people are watching.

goraiders93, "hope he gets his personal life straightened out" seems a little dramatic over the top response to a 2 game suspension. Some day you may have to punish a kid for not doing the chores or something school related and, I'd imagine more than just the kid would be a little insulted to see it referred in a few different places that the child needed to get their personal life straightened out over the incident. I don't know if our coaches send someone to monitor attendance, certainly the professors have to cooperate with athletes. I know the overall gpa of the team ( it's pretty good ). I do agree that it will be nice to see everyone available. Maybe I just took your posts on each board the wrong way.

goraiders93, "hope he gets his personal life straightened out" seems a little dramatic over the top response to a 2 game suspension. Agreed. Hope he gets his personal life straightened out is an extreme comment. Assuming his suspension is for skipping class, which college student hasn't done that? I know I missed class all the time when I was in college and I graduated from WSU with honors. Attendance in class isn't mandatory for most professors. As long as you turn in your assignments on time and pass your tests you are in good standing for most classes. Wright State (along with all other athletic departments) hold student athletes to higher standards and expect more. I don't think Sledge needs to get his personal life straightened out. I think he needs to get his priorities straightened out. With his size and athletic ability, he has a chance to make a living playing basketball if he can develop his game. Getting in the coach's dog house by skipping class isn't going to help him achieve that goal. I hope Sledge and all of his teammates learn from this. More importantly, I hope this 2 game suspension doesn't cost WSU a win or 2.

Cheerfan, I like that response. Two games is a big deal, can't get them back. Letting the team down and disappoint family and friends but, don't make it worse than it is. When you ask any player at any school to leave their comfort zone to play you need to keep things in perspective. I'm sure a point has been made.
