I was a season ticket holder for the first ten years of the Nutter Center. At first there were 6 of us and then after 10 years it was just me. As I remember it back when we were in the P.E. building the majority of the fans were students sitting on the bleachers making a lot of noise, there were also a few older folks in the cushy seats back then. Maybe you are right that the average age of season ticket holders is closer to 30 and it is because most of the folks that I know in their 50's and 60's have stopped going to the games because they aren't as much fun as they used to be or we remember them as being. The PE building had a standing capacity of 2800 and we averaged between 2200-2600 fans a game for the last 10 years we played there. You stated that the majority of the fans were students sitting in the bleachers making lots of noise. That simple isn't true. We never came close to having student attendance in the thousands back then. Student attendance was measured in the hundreds. I wholeheartedly agree that we need to get more students out to games, but your version of history is not true. We have always had a problem with student attendance even when we were in the PE building. Games were louder back then but we were playing in a glorified high school gym and had the place packed. Our worst attended game last year would have been a full house in the old PE building.
