Lovelady tossed after Illini player leads with shoulder in play at plate. Illinois back up 5-4.

Mitch Roman ejected too as he entered the field for the 7th inning... Illinois has brought in their flamethrower Tyler Jay.

Why did Ronan get ejected?

Why did Ronan get ejected? They said he had a few words with the home plate ump...likely language, although the ump at third appeared to eject him.

Great Year! Very proud of the Baseball team and what they accomplished this season.
Hopefully this is something they can build upon. We need to do what we can to keep Coach Lovelady. I believe he can build something very special here.

Damn proud of this team. They played tough, and lost to a top 10 team on their home turf. We had a mountain to climb, but we represented the school and the Horizon League proudly. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come not only for WSU, but for the Horizon League as well. We should be just as good next season. We should return 6 of 9 regular starters, and the entire starting rotation.

I liked the schedule Lovelady put together this year. We challenged ourselves (as usual) with games at Ole Miss, Miami, and Missouri State. We finished with our best RPI ever--sub 50. If we have a similar schedule next year and win a couple more of those games (with an experienced team returning) WSU may put itself in position for an at-large berth into the NCAA. The icing on the cake would be to have a home game or series with a top 50 program.

mrose, I believe we lucked out with the Missouri State games. If I remember correctly, we were supposed to participate in the UD-WSU Invitational but the weather forced us to head south...not sure why they had an opening in their schedule or how it ended up in Georgia.
wsuraiders09, FWIW Mamer is a senior that pitched on weekends. I almost hate for Randolph to pitch in conference games...those weeknight games sure gave us bragging rights in OOC games.
Hopefully, all aspects will be clicking.

If anyone cares, I went back to the archives and that invitational was supposed to include Missouri State here...Buffalo and UD too. So, I guess we would have played each team ( Missouri State was probably happy to be playing us for three ).
