Or maybe he saw this team is going to be really good and wanted to play for a winner. :-)

This is good news. Having these two big men gives us a chance to compete. I like that the lad from Denmark has been playing the past two years and comes in as a freshman. On paper the WSU athletic program is looking very good for 2015-16.

I'm more encouraged with this announcement. I think Peter is going to be a walk on with hopes he can get a scholarship in future. We now have some height inside with depth and speed and quickness. This team could be a dark horse if BD decides to stress the offense more and encourage players to take good open shots.

Just watched YouTube video on Daniel Mortenson...kid has game, range from outside and good D1 body...think this is a good get for WSU. Could play 3-4 spot and create matchup problems for sure.

I think we are seeing the positive effects of our new assistant coaches on the recruiting front. Biggie Minnis and Daniel Mortensen are both Patrice Days recruits I believe. Minnis mentioned in one of the articles that Days sold him on Wright State. Days also had experience with foreign players from his days coaching at some of the top prep schools so I think he most likely had his hand in the Mortensen signing too. I think both are solid additions for anytime of the year but considering how late it is in the summer, I think they are home run type additions now. They make me excited to see what Days can do as a recruiter when he is actually given some time to develop relationships with class of 2016 and beyond recruits.

I hope you are right Willie. I especially want to see us land some strong, mobile big men who can defend and rebound.

Sorry, Rush the Court, I have been away from internet for about a week. I saw Parker in a workout with Roderick Davis and Yoho. I was in the Setzer Pavilion for a meeting and saw them. No better source than my own 2 eyes.

Really like the way our roster is shaping up for this season. This kid from Denmark sounds like a very nice find. I also like the Biggie Minnis transfer because while he's not a star by any means, he will help hold down the fort at PG. Without him, who would have been the starting PG? Mitchell is not a true PG. He's a SG who is best around the rim. Benzinger is a SG. Thomasson can play PG, but is more of a SG. The incoming freshman Mark Hughes? I think he's a combo guard (PG/SG) but he wasn't going to be the starting PG as a freshman most likely.
These last two additions have really helped boost our roster and round things out. I'm pretty excited for this season.

Really like the way our roster is shaping up for this season. ... ...These last two additions have really helped boost our roster and round things out. I'm pretty excited for this season. Man, what a difference a player makes. I was very doubtful about this season with Karena and Roderick being our only true big men. Ersthausen leaves, we pick up a poor-shooting point guard, and we're in to August. But then... We get this kid (20 year old) from overseas. His game tapes make him look like Yoho with two more inches. He's also a rebounder and a shotblocker. We now have a SG, a SF, and a SF/PF in Benzinger, Yoho, and Mortonsen, that can spread the floor a ridiculous amount. Minnis has a great A/TO ratio, so he could just dish it off to the best option. He may never even have to shoot as long as he has good court vision. Still not entirely sold on him based on the rest of his stats, but it's making a little more sense. As a bonus, we get Parker back for some depth underneath if needed. The way I see it, we have three players who are locks for starting jobs/major minutes: Yoho, Benzinger, and Thomasson. Mortonsen could turn into a fourth based on his reputation. With those four, we can plug in a big (Karena/Davis) a PG (Minnis), or yet another combo (Mitchell/Davis) and create three different looks on offense and defense. If we can get through this season healthy - something have not done since Brownell's first year - it could be a good one.

I'd add Karena to the list of players who are locks for starting jobs/major minutes. Not that he's great, but he'll be the starting center and play a lot. (Read: Until he fouls out. I'm only slightly kidding. Ha.)
