Can BD stop losses in Milwaukee? We will be undersized and a slow down half court game may not work well. Hope we continue more uptempo and utilize some quickness. Need to be very offensive mindedness in this game. Will need the inside-outside game hitting on all cylinders and drive to the hoop.mmike will need to pass back outside more, I suspect they will double team him a lot. Grant and JT will need to drift to open area he can pass to.

Milwaukee was a 7.5 point favorite last night. I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to as a slow down half court game. with the 30 second shot clock we get the ball up court quickly and what I've seen is as many passes as needed to get either an open shot or a drive. I know that everyone wants to see fast breaks but that isn't going to happen on every possession. I don't know if anyone keeps the stats but it would be interesting to know what the time is on our first shot of a possession. My guess, and I haven't missed any home games and have listened to or watched the others, is that we're taking the first shot at between 8 and 12 seconds on average.
The morning paper showed a possible lineup of 4 guards and Mike. It showed Milwaukee with 2-6 '10" starters. If we have our three point shooting game in place today we should be good with a perimeter game. I don't know how much driving to the basket is going to happen until you see how the refs are going to call the game. If we drive and create fouls early we have a better chance for a win.

I'll go with Milwakee by 15. Karena will foul out with less than 15 minutes played. We won't shoot we'll from outside and we never get calls at Milwaukee so we won't be able to score trying to drive.

Agree with Ukraine Train on Karena. He probably won't last long going against Tiby or Panoske (although he did play well against them the second time around last year). But its in Milwaukee, and much better Raider teams have lost to UWM teams they handled at home. Only hope is we light it up from 3 and Karena can play at least 25 minutes.

I'm in ecb and Ukraine Trains camp that our lack of post players will be to much to overcome. We need Korena so stay out of foul trouble AND hit our 3's to be competitive. I just don't see both happening. Dissapointed Biggie isn't starting. I think he's to critical not to start. Games can be lost in the first 4 minutes just as easily as the last 4 minutes of games.

Biggie also gets in foul trouble. I'd rather see him playing with three fouls at the 10 minute mark of the second half than I would see him playing with four...or fouled out. He's also the most mature guy on the team. I'd rather have him late than early if there was a chance that he might not be there at the end of the game.
I disagree with your statement about games being lost just as easily in the first four minutes. Sounds glib but is really just wrong. Any team can make a run and any team can blow a lead. It's the score at the end that counts.

I thought Rod Davis would be good enough at this point to be a solid backup C. We could really use one of those when Karena gets in foul trouble. Poor player development on the part of our staff, or was Davis a bit overrated coming out of HS? He seemed like a really good prospects and showed flashes last year (had a huge game at Oakland).
Hopefully the Raiders can surprise many of us and get a tough league win on the road today.

Rod was hurt at the beginning of the season. He's pretty raw in the talent department. Next year should be his year. He could be another Thad Burton for us if he can play under control. He's wide and he can jump. He just doesn't always jump at the right time.

Game is on ESPN3. edit: not right now, but it will be later... Att u-verse is carrying the game if you have the higher packages (400+ or the sports package) on channel 621 (which is espn's college extra sports channel) in addition to twc.

I think everyone knows until the last three games we have played, it had been slow it down and pass around 3 point line. If we push the ball hard I think the big guys of Milwaukee will get tired and prone to fouling. We have a good chance of winning even if the 3 ball does not go in if we up the speed of the game.
If we do not push the ball and the 3 ball does not go in for us it will get ugly.

The morning paper showed a possible lineup of 4 guards and Mike. It showed Milwaukee with 2-6 '10" starters. I don't know how much driving to the basket is going to happen until you see how the refs are going to call the game. If we drive and create fouls early we have a better chance for a win. Our starting lineup only features one player at 6'10". We have a couple 6'9" guys but they don't play much. Here's the starting lineup: C: J.J. Panoske - 6'10" PF: Matt Tiby - 6'8" SF: Austin Arians - 6'6" SG: Akeem Springs - 6'4" PG: Jordan Johnson - 5'9" Panoske is fairly soft on the interior most of the time. Occasionally he plays like a ball hawk - he had something like 4 or 5 blocks against Minnesota. Decent three-point shot. If he puts it on the floor in the post and backs players down, his hook shot is much more effective. Because he's soft, he won't do that a lot. Usually he'll just take the hook shot from where he catches the ball. It's infuriating. Tiby is a bull in a china shop. He's the guy you love to have and love to hate if you don't have him. Eats up rebounds. Has a three-point shot and will take it if he's open. He's the guy who will embellish on charges to try and draw fouls. I laugh because we talked shit about Matt Howard for four years and then got a guy who basically does the same exact thing. And he's a dick about it. But he's our dick, so we love him. Arians is our three-point specialist. He's on an incredible poor shooting stretch, though, so who knows if today is the day he comes out of it. He was cold in most of our D-I games in December. Takes a lot of shots. He has a killer cut to the basket that he doesn't use nearly enough. Just a guy defensively, no longer a liability like he was when he was younger. Springs is one of my favorite players we've ever had. Fights hard for boards, controls the ball well, makes the threes when he takes them. Sometimes defers when he should drive the lane and draw the foul. Johnson runs the offense and is second to Kahlil Felder in the Horizon League in assists. Oh, and I guess nationally too (that's cool). He gets a lot of them by driving the lane and kicking out for open threes. Little guy who has no problem taking a foul on a layup. One rebound short of a triple-double against Minnesota on December 23rd. As far as backups, expect a little more out of JayQuan McCloud. His first game was against Wisconsin on December 9th and he looks like he's getting used to D-I speed now. Wichmann is right behind Yoho in three-point shooting, but also is a solid glue guy who excels at getting loose balls and long rebounds. JR Lyle is a little spark plug, kind of an instant offense type guy. When he touches the ball, he's going to try and score - doesn't give it up as much as he should. Brock Stull has been getting himself on the court more because he plays strong defense, is athletic and shoots very well. He's just a freshman that will make plenty of mistakes so he can't be out there too long. If you wanna watch warmups, WSU has a periscope: www.periscope.tv/w/1jMKgjPdajgxL

Thanks BPU-Great scouting report. The Dayton paper listed Arians as 6'10". Not the first mistake they've ever made.
Locally the game is on TWC 311 and 1311 in the Dayton area.
