I'm surprised Coach Nagy didn't round out his staff with at least one coach with ties to Ohio. All of these guys are used to recruiting in Nebraska, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.

Wright State has Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana connections through previous players and coaches relationships. This will serve to broaden the "horizons".

Our current staff does not have those connections. If you look at the recruiting board, none of our recent offers have local ties.

BigD, do you think since they are now in this area and with the Athletic Department ties with coaches in the area they will develop relationships now? But will retain some of the other relationships. We will see over the next two years about the relationships they develop in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. They recruited in the area of their school more than in other areas..

Of course they will develop local recruiting ties but it isn't going to happen overnight. Like Jazzfan, I was surprised to see Coach Nagy bring in his last assistant from Milwaukee rather than someone with local ties. It would have facilitated the transition to recruiting this area easier. His whole staff has Nebraska and Wisconsin ties. Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan are much more fruitile recruiting grounds. I like the staff he put together. I was just surprised by it.

Coach Nagy talked somewhere about it not being hard to develop local recruiting connections moving to a new area. If he's not concerned then neither am I.
