While this is very exciting, the same thing happened a couple years ago on the other end of the floor at the pavilion on a dunk by Tavares Sledge. But that being said, it sure would be cool to see this in person at a ball game.

I am happy to see that returning players are buying into Nagy's philosophy and to quote Mark Alstork, "I love it.", too. It seems that we are truly going to see a different product on the floor this year compared to the past decade of the slow grind, and I absolutely welcome this. I realize that Nagy is not a miracle worker, but I trust that he'll do the best he can with what he has and I can't wait to see what he puts on the floor. My pre-season excitement level for WSU basketball is the highest it's been since 2007 and I am ready to support Nagy and crew in any way possible. This season can't begin soon enough!

Is it true that "Big D" is a user of twitter? I never use twitter. If he is on twitter how would I find his gems of wisdom? You aren't very observant. The link to his twitter feed is in his signature line at the bottom of every post he makes on the board. He mostly retweets recruiting information.

It is not whether I am observant or not, it is that I don't pay attention to twitter. I have an old tracfone and the youngsters don't understand my reluctance to text. i just think it is easier to call someone up and talk. He was talking about the link at the bottom of each of my posts on this board. If you click the link that says RaiderNation twitter at the bottom of this post it will take you to my twitter page. FYI, you don't have to use a phone to use twitter. You can use it from any computer, tablet or phone.

I thought the last couple of articles about coach Nagy and the raiders were very interesting. His description of how he liked to play were in direct contrast to recent play and very much in line with what many raider fans have been unhappy about. I really liked the fact that he wants to get it down the floor in a hurry. Most young players that style of play and it may open up some recruits to coming here that would not have previously. i also like his approach to offensive rebounding. it will be nice to see is get some stick backs this year.
i am not real impressed with the schedule but he needs time to build up the team then build up the schedule. I especially liked a comment he made about scheduling being tough now but that it will even tougher when we get really good. he seems to have no doubt that we are going to get really good. I am really looking forward to that point.
I am somewhat concerned about the lack of fan board activity this close to the season. I just hope everyone is fired up for the coming season and the crowds will start building back up.

Season ticket holders have been invited to watch a team practice and pick up their tickets. I'm a big fan of this change - I never attended the meet the team events that were held previously. But I will try to make it there this year to view a team practice and get a look at our team in action on the court. Much better perk IMO.

I'm pretty jacked up about this season. Coaching is huge in college basketball and I think Nagy will prove to be an exponential upgrade over Donlon. We'll look back on it and laugh one day. Like, "Man, did we seriously upgrade our coaching situation going into the 2016-17 season." And I get the feeling Nagy will be here for a while.
I like this roster. Feel we're one big man away from really having a good roster, but overall I like it. We're going to have to go small ball a lot, but that's fine with Nagy's style (compared to Donlon's, for example). Alstork and Benzinger will lead the team in scoring and likely be our only two players that average in double-digits, but we have a lot of nice complementary pieces that will help. I'm ready for some Raider Roundball!

I went…it was a good look at the team. They scrimmaged quite a bit with frequent pauses for coaching and instruction at most dead ball points and then right back to the scrimmage. Ran several fast break drills – does look like we will be playing fast. Coach Nagy got on the mic briefly at the end to thank everyone for coming out and said that was pretty much what most practices look like. The guys were going hard – it wasn’t a walk through by any stretch of the imagination. If people were upset last year that we practiced hard and sometimes players get hurt in practice…you’re still going to be upset. Few notes from my non-expert eye: • LaTulip has a nice touch on his jumper and some swagger – he will be a player for us • Grant showed some nice leadership qualities – looked in charge, I expect him to be a leader this year • Justin Mitchell is chiseled – I’d kill to have his shoulders and arms – his game looks solid too • Love is a big boy – he’s not going to get pushed around. Didn’t show a bunch of post moves but should clean up offensive boards. Free throw touch could use some work though • Parker is every bit of 6’11 – significantly taller than Love • I don’t remember Winchester taking a single shot – he’s long though • Steven Davis’ shot was off but it was good to see him on the court again. He’s still pretty lean – hopefully he won’t be banging all game against HL power forwards • I didn’t notice any drop off in defensive intensity from last year – even with this just being a practice
