After not playing in last evenings game I'm assuming both Loudon Love and Everett Winchester will red shirt this season.
If both stick around all 5 years they could be impact players. Loudon is a big man at 6-9 with lots of potential and Everett is a 6'6 athletic guard.
Coach Nagy must have high hopes for both if he's willing to red shirt them.

I agree. I actually like redshirting both players. Loudon could use a year to heal and get up to speed defensively. Everett seemed raw to me, and I really think he could be a great player for us later in his career.

i agree. i really like that mindset the coach has of looking at players that would benefit from redshirting. it feels like the coach is looking long term not just immediate. truth is we will probably have an 8 or 9 man rotation max so let these two develop and be bigger contributors down the road

I love it. Better than people expected (so far) this season ... while still being able to redshirt two of our three recruits in the 2016 class (and the two best IMO, even though Custer is ready to play now and needed). I like Custer too.
Nagy is building something special here my friends.

Only thing that scares me about redshirting is the 5th year grad year transfer rules. It totally destroyed Cleveland State losing starters to Louisville and Wichita State. That being said, if those two guys were not going to get significant minutes it is best to redshirt and let them develope for a year. We have had other guys in the past who have turned out really good for us after a redshirt year like Will Graham and Drew Burleson.

Have a feeling we will be adding Parker to that list in a couple years...

What scares me is Alstork and the 5th year grad transfer rule... That is why I don't like red shirting players unless they are physically not ready for D1 basketball. Parker is the type of kid that needed the red shirt because he was so thin and weak.

Nagy seems to have the type of relationships with his players that will prevent grad transfers. I could be wrong. We'll find out.
