Not going to happen, gerb. The best, the VERY BEST, the HL can hope for is one school win the regular season and then lose in the HL tourney sending them to the NIT.
Both Valpo and Oakland have only one more chance at a top 100 win. Having only 3 or 4 wins vs. top 100 schools isn't going to cut it. Pretty much every school currently ahead of them in the at-large pecking order already has at least that many wins now vs. top 100 and have multiple more opportunities vs. top 100 opponents. In addition to top 100 wins both Valpo and Oakland have played a relatively weak strength-of-schedule. For both Valpo and Oakland their sos is only going to get weaker going forward. I believe it's safe to say their current sos is probably the best it will get. The only reason Oakland's aggregate sos has risen to its current level is they've played us, Valpo, and NKU. Aside from UWGB those are the only programs that can lift their sos. Going forward they only play 5 games vs. "good" RPI programs and have 10 games vs. dreadful RPI programs.
I just don't see the NCAA picking an at-large with fewer than 5 wins vs. top 100 competition and an aggregate sos 100+.

The at large train has left the station for the Horizon a while back. Look for 13-16 seed for the winner of the Horizon this year.

If you're a fan of nonstop action, you may want to check out the Detroit-Oakland game happening right now. UDM has been putting on a full-court press the whole game and it's working. Dunks and blocks everywhere. 42-51 OU at the half.

Oakland up by 3 with under 2:00 left. Hogan is winning this game by himself.

Everyone in the Horizon was watching the weak link that Oakland has. They can't handle the full court press. Detroit employed that the whole game and it worked. Oakland was out of sync the whole time.

CSU beating Oakland by double digits at Oakland...and UDM putting it on YSU. Oh...and Valpo beating UWGB by 12 at the moment. Wow....

Just watched parts of Oakland-CSU and Detroit-YSU. Detroit didn't look like the bottom feeder and YSU beat Oakland. The two games this weekend are very important if we are going to be in top half of the league.

Crazy night in the Horizon. Cleveland State wins by 11 at Oakland, and Detroit beat up Youngstown. Valpo now back in control of the league after destroying Green Bay.
