Based on the post game from IUPUI, this game isn’t happening.

It will be interesting to see what they do with this game. The league started out with "all covid cancelations are forfeits". Then they came back with their tail between their legs and are now determining results on a case by case basis. Aka some person or group of people single handily decide what's a forfeit and what's a no contest, which puts us right back in the same predicament we saw last year with league teams with unbalanced results, which we all know can effect seeding and post-season matchups.
We're full strength and we're ready to play. NKU has had their last two games deemed no contests (IUPUI, UIC) with no word on possible rescheduling (which would be very tough). If the game is canceled and one team is ready to play and the other has to back out, it should be a forfeit in my opinion, but I'm sure the league won't see it that way. If neither team can play, then a no contest determination seems appropriate. I'm sure our guys can use the day off with 4 straight on the road ahead.

good, as we probably would not have had Tanner for the game with his Grandfather's funeral that same day.

I'm all for rescheduling this game. It won't be hard to put this game on a random Monday or Tuesday. There's little worry about the travel, as we can travel there and back in one day.
But this league continues to be a joke regarding Covid cancellations. The fact the commissioner can single handily that a team outbreak is "extraordinary circumstances" is a farce. If you've got 7 players and a coach in the SEC, you have to play. End of story. The HL isn't the SEC, but Greg Sankey isn't sitting in his office handing out verdicts on game results or judging the severity of the outbreak and whether or not it meets some invisible set of criteria. She's just as bad as LeCrone was.

She's just as bad as LeCrone was. Well, she was fired by the NCAA for being incompetent before she was hired by the HL. Not sure why anyone would think she would turn into a good commissioner with her track record. Here's the story again for those that don't remember www.nytimes.com/2013/02/19/sports/ncaa-ousts-julie-roe-lach-as-vice-president-of-enforcement.html

I'll admit that I don't know the rules here but it seems ridiculous that we had to play shorthanded a few players and our head coach because of covid and other teams get to just postpone their games until everyone is back to 100% and able to play. I must be missing something, right? It can't really be that arbitrary can it?

I must be missing something, right? It can't really be that arbitrary can it? They won't actually tell us the details, but as I posted above, the HL did not make any transparent guidance (at least not that was made public to fans) about minimum requirements to be forced to play. As I posted above, the SEC says if you have 7 or more available players and one or more available coach, the game is on. The HL did not make a statement like that to the general public. They may have direction from the league, or they may have update calls a few times a week where these things are being discussed. I would hope for the sake of fair play that NKU is down more than just a guy or two and legitimately can't field a squad, especially after we saw IUPUI play with only 8 available players. It'd be interesting to know to who is making the call about playing. Can the school just say "hey we're down players, we can't play", or do they need to be below a certain threshold for the league to say, "yeah, you don't have X players, the game is canceled". I would hope there's some hard breaking line, but given the laughable decision making I've seen from this league for the last 20 years (some of you longer), it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they were going case by case.

Looks like the NKU game will now be played on Tuesday Jan 25th at NKU. It will end up being our 5th straight road game following the trips to RMU, YSU, IUPUI, and UIC.
