What a bummer that at this point we’re rooting for a top 4 in this sorry league.

Finke with two unforgivable turnovers. Unreal What can we meet expect given their minutes all year. And why is it that for years CSU gets the local kids here and WSU doesn't? This is at least the fifth loss in 10 years at home where a Trotwood or Dayton City league player(s) with CSU has a great game. I agree and question why we can't get the local kids too. People will point out alstok but you're right. Would have loved to have Patton. I disagree on defending finke. He has struggled the majority of the year. His contribution would have helped out in several games and this game is no different. For someone that is supposedly as talent as him, he needs to figure it out. Tanner is playing just as much and I don't see a drop in his game play. We clearly need better recruits to cut down these long minutes. The injuries players wouldn't be much help either.

Why don’t you watch the defensive end of the court sometime. Finke is getting matched up with our opponents top offensive player every game no matter how much of a mix match it is against him and he is still playing 2x better defense than Tanner. Tanner has been a prolific scorer this year but his defense has flat out not been good. Go back and watch tonight’s game again on replay. Tanner got taken off the dribble for an easy lay up 1/2 dozen times from inferior players. Finke’s offensive struggles and Tanner’s defensive struggles come down to our lack of a bench and the marathon minutes our starters play. You make mental lapses when you are tired. Jump shooters don’t make jump shots with tired legs. Defenders get taken off the dribble when they are tired. We need to upgrade our bench talent and Nagy needs to be willing to use those players. We have lost a lot of really talented guys having productive careers at other schools now because they weren’t get playing time here. That trend needs to end.

It was a great turnout, especially the student section, but for as many students as were there, it seemed a bit dead, outside of the near comeback towards the end. I'm not sure how much it contributed, but one student was ejected after yelling an expletive. A Cleveland State assistant coach who, earlier was talking to security about the student section, walked over to the student section to get him kicked out. It would be nice if their coaches would monitor their own bench behavior as closely.

It would be nice if their coaches would monitor their own bench behavior as closely. What really frustrated me is that Steve Honacki told the CSU bench to sit down and be quiet half a dozen times in the game, but never handled it as it escalated in the second half. CSU had multiple players and assistants on the court during live ball action. (I can't figure out why their bench was so long to begin with, the fact that it wrapped around toward the students is ridiculous). Add to that how many times Gates was well past the coaching box without action made me even more mad. But the tip of the iceberg was when Gates was inside the 3 point line as his team was about to inbound the ball and signaled that he wanted a review. Ask for a review all you want, but you aren't permitted to enter the court to do it unless there's a timeout; there was only a dead ball, no timeout. Their bench and staff were certainly skirting the sportsmanship line today, and the fact they had a student kicked out for an expletive is ridiculous. I'm sure there were no expletives coming from the CSU bench tonight.

They actually had a 2nd row of chairs behind CSU's bench, but it went unused with the exception of 1 chair by an assistant coach.
I actually think it is a part of CSU's strategy for the bench to stand when the other team's offense has the ball at that end. In the first half, despite the warnings from the official, it seemed like at least one person was standing on their bench at nearly all times. In the 2nd half, when that was CSU's offensive end, every time they brought the ball down the court, someone on their bench made sure every one sat down. Of course they stood at nearly all other times.
I guess just like they dare the refs to call fouls when they play defense, they dare the refs to enforce the rules and call a technical foul on their bench.

I mean it's a good strategy; pushing the limits, testing officials. I'm not saying it would have mattered, but it's easier to push these HL officials around a bit than when you get a veteran crew doing a game on an off night (which is what I expected we'd see tonight, only Honacki sees big games on a limited basis). There's a reason a lot of these guys we see a ton of don't work other conferences, and that's because they have more tested, more seasoned, and more consistent officiating, which is why I find it helpful to tell the board what we're in for, and tonight, not that it made a difference in the result, we had bottom of the barrel officials, of which the quality and consistency vary wildly from game to game.

This was a game Manns could have helped, even just 5-10 minutes and a couple buckets. Anything to give a spark and give a breather. The argument on his defense, valid in years past, holds less water when the starters play marathon minutes and a couple are struggling defensively and our sixth man, a freshman, doesn't give starter quality play during his minutes. I'm not saying sixth man or even seventh, but against zone teams Manns could help. And this, to me and probably others, is the frustrating part with Nagy's job this year. Personally, watching the display most of the year is no different than Donlon's own stubbornness . I also can't remember the last time WSU blew a double digit lead at home and they did it on national TV against a team that raids our backyard for players. If this team drops a few more and doesn't right the ship, I wouldn't be shocked if some of our seniors decide to transfer out for their last season.

My biggest issue was being beaten physically and mentally on home court. CSU met at our half court at halftime and at the end of the game and acted as if they owned the place last night. CSU showed a lack of sportsmanship much of the night, and it seemed to get in our heads.

And the ACC Network Extra isn't a national broadcast, I was only able to stream that using my ESPN+ subscription; it wasn't on the main ACC network channel, at least not in my area. Purdue being the other you're referring to (Big10).
