Oakland is undefeated in non-exhibition games at home on the season. They've not had a game decided by single digits at home all season.
Between the funky colored court, the baskets coming from the ceiling, and the students being literally inches from the basket, suffice to say it's a tough place to play, yet we're 4-1 in our last 5.
Hopefully we'll have some answers and bounce back strong.

Unless Love is in the lineup, we’ll be bigger betting underdogs than we’ve been in a while for a conference game.

12, if we do not get our butts in gear we could find ourselves looking up in the standings at ysu and/or Fort Wayne. They are both right below us and both are heading in the right direction with win streaks. Never thought I would see that day!!

I think the team has, again, reached the point of physical, mental and psychological exhaustion. There is a lot of physical and stress associated with college sports. I think our team, with limited number of players utilized have reached and exceeded their limits. Physical exhaustion evident in how many open shots are short. We play a limited number of players and a more strenuous man to man defense. The mental exhaustion is evident in number of turn overs in past few games. The psychological occurs because of losses to teams they know the should have beaten. Coach and assistants need to find a way to help with these issues, to reverse the present move in wrong direction.

The guys that aren't playing are hurt or just not good enough to contribute. Playing bad players isn't going to help us win. This season can't be salvaged by playing guys that shouldn't be on a D1 roster. Recruiting better bench players is what is going to take us to the next level and that isn't going to happen until next season at the earliest.

We’ll what is happening has done well the past 3-4 years, so why change, right. Guys that like to bitch about the rotation seem to fail to mention that we were trying to go much deeper at the beginning of the season. We had to stop because guys got hurt. Brandon Noel had a setback with his rehab and they decided to red-shirt him before the season even started. Alex hurt his back in the preseason. He tried to play at the beginning of the year and just couldn't do it. People were talking about how his game had regressed since last year. The kid was hurt and tried to play through it and our staff shut him down after 4-5 games and decided to medical red-shirt him. He averaged almost 15 minutes a game last year. You don't think our staff would have loved to have him available all year. Voss was another guy they expected to play a lot this year. He has had one injury after another and hasn't really been able to contribute much this year. Wilbourn is a guy they thought was going to be able to play here. He was on the All HL freshmen team 2 years ago. They thought he could at least be a role player for us. He has battled his own injuries and not lived up to expectations. I think Nagy would like to go deeper with his bench. He played 8-10 people the first several games of the year before guys started getting injured. He abandoned going that deep because the bench guys who aren't hurt aren't contributing on either end of the court consistently to warrant more playing time. Earlier in this thread you questioned why we even brought in Wilbourn and Voss. The answer is Nagy and Sargent tried to make the most out of a bad situation last spring and summer. We lost 3 assistant coaches this past off season and 2 of them were our recruiting coordinator (Coach Cooley) and one of our better recruiters (Coach Chambliss). Almost everyone we were looking at we lost out on because the coaches that were recruiting them left our program. Hell, one of the kids we expected to end up at Wright State followed one of those assistants to his new school. The main guy Sargent was recruiting at the time was Brian Waddell. He blew up in the Indiana high school tournament and ended up getting a ride to Purdue at the last minute. He had already told our staff he was coming to Wright State and had an announcement date planned until that Purdue offer came. Sargent almost had Oakland transfer Daniel Oladapo in the fold until Pitt came through with an offer at the last minute. (I bet he wishes he was helping us win a HL title right now instead of getting garbage time off the bench at Pitt). Losing kids at the last minute happens all the time to mid-majors unfortunately. At the end of the day, Nagy spent a lot of time looking for new assistant coaches and Sargent did the best he could trying to fill out last year's class while getting our 2022 class started. In retrospect, Wilbourn and Voss have been busts. Sargent/Nagy thought those 2 would at least be role players for us. If they both would have been able to contribute 10-15 minutes a game off the bench along with Alex Huibregtse we could have had a 8-9 man deep bench this year. Instead we are playing our top 4 guys marathon minutes and living with the ups and downs of playing 3 freshmen. It's not ideal and needs to change in the future.

I don't follow recruiting closely so I appreciate this summary of last offseason.

Would it appropriate to have a thread regarding injuries for people on this board could keep up?

Well, the offense has come alive. Just need to figure out that we need to play some defense too.
