Runt, I think our chances of making a run in the ncaa tournament would be greatly enhanced if we can escape the “ curse of the 4 seed”. To do that we need to do two things. First, I know we dominate the hl, but we need to dominate it even more. We cannot lose league games to the teams with a really bad rpi. Those losses hurt our rpi. Second, we play a really solid preleague schedule with some really good teams, usually down south on the rough. All of them are very tough challenges. But we need to take a couple of those series. Those would be quad 1 wins, reputation enhancers and really help our rpi and seeding in post season. Our goal should be reaching that 2 seed. If I understand it correctly that would get us a home game against the 3 seed . Winning that series could kickstart that hot streak you talked about.
All that is a tall order but as you said we are recruiting better and we have a good coach so hopefully we can make it happen.
Be great if they got a series against fgcu.

Keith, agree with you completely. Either a 2 or 3 seed gets us away from playing the #1, and either way its on a neutral field (#1s host). Only difference between 2 and 3 seed is who bats first. If Raidergang can win a few of those pre league road games, we could get there, certainly to a #3 seed.
Would also help the RPI if 1-2 of the other HL teams would get better, but that logic applies in every sport, and is unlikely to get better until we can get to a better league. Don't see that anytime soon.

You still have to be able to beat every team in the Regional. I think it would give some momentum to have a higher seed and start off with an easier first game. Indiana State got to the Super Regional and barely pulled out a win against our RaiderGang. Kent State a team RaiderGang is very competitive with went to the CWS in 2012. It really just takes getting on a roll late in the season. Wright State can do these things to help get to that elusive Super Regional. 1. Up the recruiting, get some Top 300 players. The recruiting is solid for a Midwest Mid-Major. It needs to get a little better. Easier said than done. I will add I was talking to players this summer in the Cornbelt Collegiate League. Everyone of then was aware of how good Wright State is. Wright State is getting known in baseball circles. 2. Invest more money into baseball. We need a practice facility; we need to pay our coaches a lot more and we need more money in the recruiting budget. I do not see more money being pumped into the program anytime soon. 3. Try to schedule more SEC, ACC, Big 12 teams. And close to home, Big 10 teams, along with Ball State, Kent State, Indiana State. Playing Top 50 RPI teams is key.

From Pro Baseball Radar:
Wright State is nearly a lock to win 35 games & a Horizon League title every year. They don't only develop pro players, but ones who perform above average in the minors. 2024 will feature an older core- Luikart, Greenwell, Sass plus a solid draft prospect in Andrew Patrick.
Also, for the first time, since at least 2010, they had an incoming freshman drafted and signed- Jaron Elkins. Wright St. is one of the best recruiters and developers in college baseball. MLB orgs are catching on.

I just took a look at the Perfect Game college program recruiting rankings. Wright State is not ranked in the Top 100 in either the Class of '23 or '24. Wright State is one of the best programs at developing talent, but I am concerned that RaiderGang is not ranked. It is a little early but not ranked for the Class 2025 either.
Some of the schools ranked above of Wright State in 2024 are:
Ohio State-54 Xavier-68 Michigan State-78 Cincinnati-89
others include Samford, E. Tenn State, Kennesaw State, Western Carolina, App State, Yale, Stoney Brook, Army and Wofford.

Runt, where can we find the schedule for fall ball? Saw the tweet late today, and was late innings by time we arrived at the Nisch. Completely missed the one a few days ago. Is there a published schedule? nothing appears on WSU Raiders/baseball except the schedule from the spring.

The last game is a Prasco Park where the Big East has held their Conference Tourney the last two years. Eastern Michigan ⏰ 1 p.m. 📍 Mason, OH 🏟 Prasco Park 🎟 Free admission
