I think our average of 4120 is a big disappointment. Everyone always says if we win they will come but that is not happening. I disagree we have been trending up and this year we are finally pretty good, but I think we have to make some noise in the NCAA. That will get their attention. Let's face it, few people read the DDN anymore and they get their sports news from ESPN and other sports networks. So, we just don't get much mention on the national level. If we could pull off a run like Florida Gulf Coast University or VCU, that would do it. FGCU sold out their games for the next few years after that run.I think that would happen at the Nutt House too. A great analysis of attendance, thank you '09 for putting it together. Big D, you nailed it on both of your posts in this thread. Love, I think you were a little off in your analysis/conclusions, but you are thinking along the right lines. Sorry but you are wrong too if you think people are still getting their sports news from ESPN or “other sports networks”. ESPN subscriptions have been declining at their fastest rate in company history, and NBA viewership is way down as well. Today’s generation gets their sports news from Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, viral videos and word of mouth. To bring in more fans we need to win consistently AND win big, no one besides the diehards give two shits if we beat Cleveland State. There’s not a whole lot more to it. Atmosphere etc will come with good wins. Get consistent quality wins, create buzz and they will come. This year was an improvement but still not nearly good enough considering we have X, UC, U* etc in our backyards who all have a long tradition of winning. The competition for time and money at basketball games is fierce in Southwest Ohio. To be clear, I like our trajectory and obviously hope we keep it up. We’re getting there, just not quite good enough yet.

NKU has raised $145. I can't find our campaign, but I was hoping to donate. Shame you can’t donate online, I’d definitely throw some money in

“Today’s Raider Open House runs from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m” Those open house times are ridiculous. Who thought that was a good idea? In addition to local students, WSU needs to be focusing on INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS which was not mentioned at all in the article. They pay about double or more than the cost of in-state students. I don’t mean to sound rude here but the truth is WSU needs a special liaison focused exclusively on the Chinese market. They are flush with cash and 110% willing to pay the fees to send their kids abroad for the right opportunity. My line of work partly involves assisting university reps in finalizing agreements between Chinese high schools and universities in America to help establish a pipeline of students. Do you know which local universities are actively seeking partnerships here in the RICHEST province of China (Zhejiang)? UC and Miami. They even have local offices here. Do you know which school I’ve never once even heard or seen looking for opportunities here? Wright State The open house was extremely well attended today. I don't want to sound rude here but the hours are pretty similar to almost every other university in the nation and this open house was geared specifically towards increasing local high school and transfer students. In regards to international students. The university has already increased it's efforts to attract international students. There was an article about it at the end of 2019 that I'll link below. In regards to China specifically, we have 53 student's from China. webapp2.wright.edu/web1/newsroom/2019/11/07/branching-out/ For an institution that is attracting its lowest number of students in 37 years, 9-12:30 is weak. What could possibly be harmed by extending it later? And having 53 students from China is a joke.

still do not know how it will turn out but it is important that we remember that this is the eighth best team in the hl and they are a good team. ignore their rpi, net etc. this is a good team!! lol you speak the truth though, had we lost this game many on here would be saying exactly that! Trying to make excuses for a piss poor performance.

This is absolutely huge. Imagine how many more kids would transfer if they knew they didn't have to sit a year. I guess if anything this will weed out the kids who aren't truly committed to your program...you probably don't want them there anyways, right?

you hear a lot about analytics in sports today and that article is packed with analytic data. interesting that the raiders offense with the tanner/ Calvin duo produces at a higher rate with them than without. I wonder if our coaches use that kind of data in determining lineups during a game?? That's a good question. I'd imagine you have some coaches who are "old school" and don't pay too much attention to data and analytics (to the extent of the article) and some who obsess over it and try to incorporate it into their game.

Ok that student’s only happy hour is epic. Have they done that promotion before? I hope they are blasting that message out. If cheap booze and bar food can’t bring students to a game then I don’t know what can. Match that with Uber and sounds like a perfect Friday night.

I know people are gonna call me a negative Nancy, but I just can’t get behind these “Raiders lead the nation with 1,056 rebounds this season!” and “Forth highest scoring average in the country!” posts.
Marketing’s gotta do what marketing’s gotta do, I get it. But an SOS rank of 333 dampers those stats. I’m enjoying our success, don’t get me wrong. But in the future I hope we have the schedule and some high-caliber wins to back up these stats.

Really speaks volumes to how bad Milwaukee is that our star player gets ejected for a good portion of the 2nd half and they still couldn’t win
