Here is what I have been able to find on Northeastern Unv.
In their last game they won on the road at UMass 84-68. They are now 2-2 with all their games being road games. We are their home opener. They also beat Cornell 89-85 with their losses coming to Birmingham Southern, 81-70 and Harvard 85-75.
Starting lineup:
Baren jr. g 6-0 170 lbs. 28.3 ppg., 7 ast, 90.5% ft. Barnes sr. g. 6-2 215 lbs 21.3 ppg., 87% ft A. Davis jr. g. 6-3 180 lbs. 8.3 ppg Cole jr. f. 6-6 210 lbs. 4.3 ppg B. Davis f 6-9 220 lbs. 11 ppg
sixth man: James f fr. 6-9 190 lbs. 11.5 ppg, 4 blocks per game
Team statistics:
Average 79.2 ppg Give up 79.8 ppg Field goal % is 43% 35.8% from 3 point They make 9.8 3's per game Shoot 75.8% free throws as a team Average 32.5 rpg Rebounding differential is -7.7 13 Turnovers per game 8.3 steals per game
I am not sure what conclusion you can draw from these numbers?

Wow! They beat UMass by 18 points AT UMass? I don't know how good UMass is suppose to be this year but that looks pretty impressive to me.
Without really knowing much ( Ok I don't know anything) about Northeastern and just looking at the numbers posted above it appears that they like and uptempo game. Yes they score almost 80 points per game but the surrender the same amount of points to their opponents.
What scares me is that they have a shot blocker in James. This could cause problems for Zach down in the low post. I'm not worried about Dashaun driving to the hoop because he has a knack for getting his shot off without getting it blocked. Like us they have four players averaging double figures but they have to primary scorers in Baren and Barnes. Dashaun once again will draw a tough assignment in guarding their point guard Baren. I suspect that Jaron and Zakee will be matched up with Barnes.
They shoot a lot of three's so again our perimeter defense will have to be on its game. They make 9.8 three's per game and if they are shooting 35% from there so that means they shoot, an average, of 29 three's per contest, wow! Our guards rebounding will be key because they will probably see a lot of "long" rebounds with that many three's being hosted.
We don't want to have to foul them at the end of the game because Barnes and Baren are draining over 87% and the "odds" say will will lose it it comes down to free throws by Northeastern.
At -7.7 on the rebounds this seems to play into one of our strengths.
My keys to the game are. Keep our turnovers below 13. Control the pace of the game (we don't want to get into a "shoot-out" with these guys). HIT OUR FREE THROWS.

www.collegehoopsnet.com/specials/preview/143.htm#143 Northeastern Huskies 2003-04: 19-11, 13-5 America East By Joel Welser The Huskies suffered a disappointing loss to Hartford in the opening round of the America East tournament last year after posting a 13-5 conference record. The lethal guard combination of Jose Juan Barea and Marcus Barnes return and are poised to lead Northeastern to a deeper tournament run. Who’s Out: Starters Javorie Wilson and Sylbrin Robinson are gone, as well as role players Cornellius Wright, Jesse Dunn and Lateef Martin. Who’s In: A solid recruiting class of Shawn James, Jamal Dart, Mantas Griskenas and Steward Baldonado should fill some minutes off the bench. Who to Watch: Jose Juan Barea averaged nearly 21 points per game during his sophomore season. Add nearly six assists per outing and one more year of experience, and you have a great team leader on your hands. Projected Conference Rank: The competition for the top spot in the America East Conference will be fierce but the Huskies don’t have enough weapons to hang in there in the long run and will finish in 3rd place. Projected Post-season Tournament: none ============= Wright State did not make the Top 144 list
