That was a quote from PB on his post game show with Jon Ramey.
"This is the poorest game we've played all year" - Jon Ramey.
Man oh man did PB sound upset on his post game show. He is not a happy camper. I am dissappointed in the loss but I love a stand up guy who won't make excuses or try to put a spin on the loss. Thanks coach for telling it like it is.
Both Ramey and PB felt like the effort wasn't there tonight. I'd have to agree.
Now my .02 on the game.
The negatives were as follows.
- Vova quit the team. He wasn't a star but I still don't understand his lack of minutes this year. I thought he could have helped this team. This bums me out.
- Everret Spencer is being overwhelmed on defense. He can't guard a bigger forward. First Peterson opens the game and gets 5 quick points in the first couple of minutes on Spencer then when we were down 4 pts with around 7 minutes to go Spencer is guarding McFadden and gives up to quick 3's which basically took us out of the game. He can't fight through picks. I still believe he is going to be a good player for us but he is struggling right now.
- Zach Williams was a complete non factor tonight. What bothered me most was this was the first game that he quit playing hard. He appeared to give up. Jon Ramey made mention of this several times. 2 pts and 5 rbs?
- I was surprised that our perimeter defense fell apart. PB told Ramey that they failed to recognize where the shooters were on the floor.
- Our offense STRUGGLED just to make a pass. I don't know how we ended up scoring 70 pts because we looked lost on offense tonight.
- We only went 1-3 versus the MAC with 3 games at our place. Very dissappointing!
The positives are as follows.
- Jordan Plieman once again played hard and I love the way he goes after every rebound. At times tonight I would have prefered Jordan in the game over Zach.
- Parysh Monroe showed us a glimse of what he brings to the table. With Plieman and Monroe for 3 more yrs are big man situation seems in good hands.
- I'm not sure yet if Dashaun had a good game or not. His stat line looks impressive but he seemed to dribble and dribble and not get the offense started. This may be due to the other players not being able to shake their defender, I'm not sure.
- Zakee Boyd struggled offensively somewhat but he shuts his man down defensively. Peterson couldn't even get a shot off on him.
I'm with PB & Jon Ramey on this one. We stunk tonight.
