Here is what I got on our next opponent.
Record 4-3
Won:
Texas A&M Internationals 76-59 Southwestern Assemblies of God 82-53 Sam Houston State 74-66 Texas - Permian Basin
Lost:
Southwest Missouri State 88-63 Lamar 74-66 North Texas 92-85
They play 10 players over 10 minutes per game. Sanchez and Fagan are the only two that log over 30 minutes the rest play between 10-20 minutes per game.
They have had 8 different players start so it was hard to figure out their starting five. I ranked the players based on the amount of minutes they play.
Sanchez SR. 5-10 21.6 ppg, 48% from 3, 88% FT Fagan SR. 6-5 11.4 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 78% FT Gedminasly SR. 7-0 9.6 ppg, 8.7 rpg East Jr. 6-8 7.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg Berry SR. 6-5 6.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg Montalvo FR. 6-0 5.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg Castillo Sr. 6-5 5.1 ppg.
Team stats:
69% FT 36% from the 3's 42% FG 76.7 PPG
Both Sanchez (.882) & Fagan (.783) are excellent FT shooters. The rest of the team is below 70%

Wow, they have a ton of seniors. Of their top 7 players 5 are seniors, 1 junior, and 1 freshman.
Hard to tell if they are any good or not since they haven't played anybody yet. Sam Houston is the only win that resembles a quility win.
If we lock down on defense we should be ok.

With out knowing much about UT-PA 2 things concern me about Wed. game. The first is that their best player by far is their point guard Sanchez. He is shooting 48% from 3 and almost 90% from the line. My concern is that Dashaun will be guarding Sanchez so Dashaun needs to stay out of foul trouble.
The second concern is UT-PA's 7 footer Gedminasly. Will he be able to shut out our inside game defensively. I'm not only concerned about Zach being able to score in the post but will the big man hinder our guards dribble penetration.
I guess we'll all find out Wed.

This is a game we should win. From top to bottom, our roster is more talented than their roster. The only real advantage they have going into the game is it on their home court. If we play the way we are capable of playing, we should win and be able to get some PT for our younger players. If we regress to our pre-YSU shooting slump, we could lose this one. I think we will win.

I'll predict a 66-57 win for our Raiders. For the most part our defense has been solid all year long so I think we'll hold them 20 pts under their average. As long as we contain Sanchez.

With their leading scorer out for tonights game our odds just got better of winning on the road.
Sanchez not only is their leading scorer but he is also their pt guard so he runs the offense.
Is it 8:00 pm yet?
