"Oh boy" indeed gerb. I don't want to wish my life away, but I can hardly wait for this to be put to bed for at least a year.

Commissioner LeCrone just said in his press conference that the probability of the current 9 teams staying intact is very high and that it's "probable" that the league is going to expand the number of teams.
He mentioned a lot of change is going to take place between now and the Final 4, and that he's assured all of the HL baseball coaches that "Baseball is going to be fine" in terms of the AQ for the NCAA Tournament.
*Thanks to whoever moved this. Had the wrong topic open.

Milwaukee and Wright State are kind of in the same boat. Our absolute highest conference would be the one directly under the Big East in the pecking order.
I think WSU's options are a bit better - you're closer to a lot of other conferences, including the A10 - but let's hope that LeCrone is up to the challenge and snags us 1-3 teams that will make all of us want to stay.

Channel 7 reported the NY Post article is not official and has not been verified. Official announcement will follow in 7-10 days.

Has any rumor been verified by the media before it is official?
Interesting Ch. 7, in a relatively small Midwestern market, calls out a tabloid in the #1 media market whose parent company just happens to own FOX Sports 1...the cable channel who will televise the Big East. Where there is smoke there is probably fire.
LeCrone had an interesting interview with USAToday this past week. From my take he sounded confident the HL would be on the winning side of expansion. He mentioned the League is prepared for a defection or two, but doesn't expect that to be the case. If I were LeCrone I would probably be sleeping well at night too if the only rumor was Loyola to the MVC (based on the USAToday story). I just don't see that happening. If the MVC wants a private school (to retain their public/private balance) I see both UDM and Valpo in better position than Loyola. If they want the Chicago market UIC is a better addition. No matter what the trade off is Private vs. Chicago Market Loyola just doesn't fit considering their apathy towards athletics.
So, it comes back to my skepticism. Is either Belmont or Evansville going to bolt for the HL?
I hope LeCrone, and others, simply don't see expansion for the sake of expansion as coming out on the winning side of expansion. If the HL can't get UE and Belmont just take Oakland for a nice round number of 10 and stop...don't lower standards to get to 12.

As I said. The dirty post always wants to have the inside scoop and of course most media outlets are bs but they're notorious for that kind of stuff. (I don't like Mike Hartsock either) lol

I think it's about time the HL presidents get together and decide to replace LeCrone. I think he is way over his head when it comes to expansion.
