Well it's up to the coaches and players now. Athletics has done it's part and advertised the heck out of this game so it looks like we should have a big crowd. I'm sure the students will be loud and crazy and I hope all of the walk up fans join in too. This is a big weekend for us. We are going to have many casual fans and recruits in the Nutter Center. If we put on a good show we can increase the size of our fanbase and hopefully make an impression on a few recruits.
Let's get it done Raiders!

This weekend is not really make or break for WSU, but it certainly could be a break. If, heaven forbid, we lose both games, we are most likely done for the year as far as being the #1 seed in the conference tourney, what with 4 straight road games to follow. Unfortunately, even if, the good Lord willing, we happen to win them both, I still think we'll have a tough road to hoe. I think we'd be better off with both Buttler and WSU winning tonite, as I can't imagine Buttler getting swept on this two game road trip for them. All in all, a 1-1 homestand won't look to bad to outsiders, but I don't think that is gonna be good enough to get 'er dun, we've gotta win 'em both. DDN says that we've won 23 out of the last 24 games at the Nutt House. Hopefully some home cookin' and a couple of good crowds will put us in the drivers seat after this weekend. We certainly owe Buttler a buttler-whippin'!!!
My biggest fear, other than getting swept, is that the Nutt House staff will not be prepared for increased crowds......hopefully everyone from the parking lot staff, to the ticket takers, to the concession folks bring their "A" game this weekend.
Go Raiders!!!!

I would agree. This year, more than ever before I think, this league is tough, especially when we go on the road. UIC, as someone mentioned in a post, is in dead last place in the HL w/o a win, and yet they beat Illinois, a ranked team. That's comparable to us beating Michigan State the year they won the title. I think they were ranked #8 at the time.
We are 4-1 now, but that is no guarantee of anything. Let's see where we stand after the first 9 HL games have been played. Then we can talk about where we "might" finish. Those next 4 games on the road could be a killer, not to mention the two home games this weekend.

I'm hoping for some AC/DC 'Back in Black' tonight as the team is introduced! Or at least some sort of change to the music to make it feel like a special event...

Athletics needs to make sure the following are done to ensure the casual fan as a positive experience. 1) Make sure ALL concession stands are open. You can't have folks missing the game because they are still standing in line. 2) Make sure you have more then 2 or 3 areas to pick up your shirt. You can't have folks standing outside waiting in the cold to get a shirt or missing the start of the game because they are still waiting for their shirt. 3) Have extra parking attendant to ensure a smooth flow of traffic. 4) Make sure ALL the ticket windows are opened and FULLY staffed. I know this seems like common sense to most of us but after "running out of food" nightmare at the "free food" give away I don't assume anything with this group. Come on Athletic Dept we need you folks on the top of your game this weekend so that it is a positive experience for all the patrons!
