01/22/2005 UW-Milwaukee @ Detroit 01/22/2005 Wright State @ Butler 01/22/2005 Cleveland State @ Youngstown St 01/22/2005 UIC @ UW-Green Bay
What a big night in HL play this Saturday. The top 4 teams all play each other. If we can manage a win at Butler we will be in 3rd place. Both UIC and G-B are tied for second with Detroit so one of those teams will drop into 3rd place. If Detroit loses at home to UWM they too will drop into 3rd place. If Detroit beats UWM again then the HL is still wide open.
The bottom line is that 2 of the top 4 teams will lose so we really need this win at Butler to keep pace in the HL.
Plezzzzzzzzzzz make your FT's boyzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I don't think we are going to come out flat like we did against Loyola after our last 5 day layoff. Butler is not the Butler team of old. They can still shoot, but they are streaky and definitely beatable. If we show up, play with some intensity, and limit our mistakes, we should win this game.
Go Raiders!

UWM 61 Detroit 48
This game was at Detroit so the Panthers got some revenge. This puts Detroit in a tie with us at 4-3 in the HL. We will be in a 3 way log jam at 3rd place with the loser of the UIC/G-B game and only a game out of second with 4 of our next 5 games at home. We have a chance to make some noise if we can protect our home floor.

Cleveland St. 78 YSU 77
The only meaning this game has to me is that if WSU has any hopes of finishing in the top 3 in the HL and thus gaining a 1st round bye in the HL tournament we have to beat both CSU & YSU on the road to have a chance.
After today we are 1-3 on the road in the HL. If we can win at CSU & YSU that would give us 3 road wins for sure and at worst a 3-5 road record in the HL. If we can go 7-1 or 8-0 at home we can finish either 11-5 or 10-6 in the HL. Either one should put us in one of the top 3 spots but it we can't afford a lose to either CSU or YSU on the road. For the record our other 2 road games are at UIC & Detroit.
G-B was up 45-44 on UIC with 14:00 to play in the second half.
G-B now leads UIC 63-59 with 6:20 to play.
