It seems like every game is critial this year in the HL with 4-5 teams fighting for one of the top 3 seeds in the HL tournament. This Wednesday is no exception.
01/26/2005 UIC @ Wright State 01/26/2005 UW-Milwaukee @ Purdue 01/26/2005 UW-Green Bay @ Detroit 01/26/2005 Youngstown State @ Loyola
If G-B loses @ Deroit then our game with UIC is for second place so it is critical that we defend our home court.
I'd also love to see UWM win @ Purdue, it would be a good win for the HL.
Compliments of Big D in and earlier post here is the updated HL standing.
Updated HL ranking: UWM 8-1 UWGB 5-2 WSU 4-3 UIC 4-3 Detroit 4-3 Loyola 3-5 Butler 2-4 CSU 2-5 YSU 1-7

If we are able to take care of business at our place & G-B loses at Detroit we are in a three way tie for 2nd with Detroit & G-B.
I expect the Titan's to win on their home floor.
After Wed. games the HL season will officially be at the 1/2 way point.

UWM 73 Purdue 68
This is a nice win for the Panthers but a terrific win for the HL. I know Purdue is down but to win @ Purdue is still a positive for the HL.
G-B 60 Detroit 54
This score surprises me. I thought the Titans would win at home. This leaves us in 3rd place all by ourselves.

Loyola is also killing YSU 61-35 with 4:56 remaining in the game.
UWM's win over Purdue is nice because Purdue is a name school from a Big conference, but it really isn't a great win. Purdue is 4-12 on the year and 0-6 in the Big 10. They have an RPI of 192.

Updated HL standings (assuming Loyola doesn't blow their 26 pt lead to YSU):
Wisc. Milwaukee 8-1 Wisc. Green Bay 5-2 Wright St 5-3 Detroit 4-3 UIC 4-4 Loyola 4-5 Butler 2-4 Cleveland St. 2-5 Youngstown State 1-8

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Detroit 4-4 now?
Big D, you're right about Purdue not helping the RPI, I was thinking more along the lines of Purdue having name recognition and it has to be viewed as a positive that a HL team can win on a Big Ten school's home floor.
Don't look now but Loyola is in our rear view mirror. I was bumming after we lost to them but then they went to G-B and demolished them. They could be a sleeper.

Sorry about that. I copied the standings from ESPN.com before they updated everyone. Let's try this again:
Wisc. Milwaukee 8-1 Wisc. Green Bay 6-2 Wright St 5-3 Illinois (Chi.) 4-4 Detroit 4-4 Loyola 4-5 Butler 2-4 Cleveland St. 2-5 Youngstown State 1-8

Beating Purdue will definitely help UWM in name recognition. They can use that this summer when they are recruiting for next year. Everyone knows who Purdue is, and hopefully they won't remember how bad they were this year.

How critical is our game this Sat. @ CSU. This is a road game we have to have. At the CSU game we then have 3 straight home games........but first lets find a way to win @ CSU.

CSU is horrible! They are 3-10 this year against D1 teams. They have beaten Norkfolk St and YSU twice. If we play like we have the last few games, we should win by 20+ even if it is at their place.

Butler lost to CSU. They are even worse then I thought. Their coach should start sending out his resume.
I hope CSU isnt on to much of a roll that we will have a problem with them on saturday.
