UIC has 7 key players. All of them have started at one time or another. My starters will be based on who started in their last game against G-B.
Starters:
Cedric Banks G 6-3 170 Sr. 16.9 ppg, 4.9 rpg, 2.8 apg
Armond Williams F 6-5 200 Sr. 10.9 ppg, 6.6 rpg
Jovan Stefanov F 6-9 210 So. 9.7 ppg, 5.2 rpg
Elliott Poole F 6-7 225 Jr. 9.5 ppg, 5.6 rpg
Rocky Collum G 5-10 165 Jr. 8 ppg, 3.3 apg
Reserves:
Justin Bowen F 6-7 210 Jr. 7.5 ppg, 5.9 rpg
Marcetteaus McGee G 6-1 160 So. 7.2 ppg, 4.2 apg
Karl White G 6-2 170 Fr. 4.7 ppg
Top 3 point shooters:
Collum 40%
White 34.8 %
Banks 32.8 %
Stefanov 32.4 %
As a team they shoot 30.3 %
Top FT's shooters:
Marcetteaus 89.3 %
Collum 84.2 %
White 76.2 %
Banks 75.8 %
As a team they shoot 66% from the line.
Top FG PCT:
Poole 52.9 %
Williams 50.9 %
Stefanov 48.8 %
Bowen 45.5 %
As a team they shoot 42.3 % from the floor.
This is a huge game for both teams but it has added importance for us because it is on our home court. With 4 out of the next 5 games at the NC we can't afford to slip up on our home floor. With a win it would keep us in 3rd place unless G-B loses then we would move into a tied with them in 2nd place.
This is going to be a tough game. UIC has lots of weapons on offense with 7 players averaging over 7 points per game.
My keys to the game are we need to keep Zach & Drew out of foul trouble, we need to defend the post, and we need to out rebound them. We are both weak FT shooting teams so it might come down to rebounds.
