With the return game we get from this year's BB game, most of next year's schedule is already set.
We have home games vs: Ball State, Northeastern, and Texas Pan Am.
We have away games vs: Toledo, Miami, Akron, Northern Illinois, Bracket Buster 2006 (if we participate)
That leaves 3 opennings to replace: The contracts for Morgan St, Brown, and Southern Illinois are done after this year. With 3 opennings and only 3 home games compared to 5 away game, it looks like we might have to get creative to get a few more home games. I bet we start a series at home vs 2 new mid majors and add 1 buy game (ala Morgan St). If we are lucky, we can renew the series with Southern Illinois.

Wow, that is a tough road schedule. 4 MAC teams on the road!
I hope we at least have 5 non-conference home games next year so that means we need to find 2 teams willing to come to our place. That would give us 5 road and 5 home games. I'd really like to find 3 teams to come to our place and have 6 home games and 4 road games.
I too would love to renew our contract with Southern Ill. but it probably isn't likely. I hope we can schedule some more MVC teams.

With our three openings I would like to see us add Ohio University, Bowling Green, Murry State, Western Kentucky, or any Missouri Valley Conference school ( preferably a Evansville, Indiana State, Bradley, or one of the Illinois schools. Obviously it is a two way street and they would have to agree to a home and home with the first visit at our place.
Our road schedule will be challenging but at least three of them are in the state of Ohio which means the team won't have quite as far to travel as most away games plus it allows our fans to go to these games. With four fairly tough road games it will be interesting to see if they decide to "schedule down" or maintain the same level of play. Since we are only losing one core player (Zach Williams) I suspect we will remain status quote on strength of schedule. I hope so any ways.

gg, i really hope we do not add any more mac schools. we need to find some other opponents. i would not buy a 1 game contract with a big time team at their place. that would test our backbones early. maybe, well i don't know who, but a bcs school. how much longer do we have pan am on contract. i would prefer not to make another trip down there. as our team gets better, and next year should be a big turnaround year, we would hopefully add a few better teams. GO RAIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

KFX,
I love playing MAC schools. They are regional thus they have name recogintion with our fans plus they tend to have alumni in the area which will help "a little" with attendance. I also love that they are a "high" mid major conference and thus will help with our RPI.
I would not mind playing "like" schools from different conferences for "variety" sake, schools from the MVC or Western Kentucky, Murry State, Valpo......It's all about the RPI and getting quality opponents to come to our place.
Go Raiders!!
