We play 2 games this week. At this point we will struggle to pick up 2 more wins in HL play. Butler is hot and we are not. If we defend the 3's like we did today Butler will run us off the court. I can't imagine winning on the road @ Detroit.
02/07/2005 Butler @ Wright State 02/10/2005 Cleveland State @ Butler 02/10/2005 Wright State @ Detroit 02/10/2005 Youngstown State @ UIC 02/10/2005 UW-Milwaukee @ Loyola
With UIC & Detroit @ home on Thursday we'll probably lose a game in the standing to both of them. I hope we can hang on for at least 6th place so we can at least host a first round game. A UWM win would help our cause.

Monday's game with Butler really is make or break for us. Including our game against the Bulldogs we only have 2 more home HL games left this season. If we lose tomorrow their is no way we host a first round game.
Our other home game is against GB which will be tough to win the way we are playing and our road games are @ Detroit, UIC, and YSU. The only real chance at a win on the road is @ YSU and now that is no guarantee.

The only real chance at a win on the road is @ YSU and now that is no guarantee. We have a real shot at winning all or none of those games. It all depends on what team shows up. If we play on the road like we did at UWGB or UWM, we can beat any of these teams. If we play like we did at CSU or at home vs Loyola, we won't. I'm not giving up on this team or our coaches. I expect to see a more intense team out there against Butler and a W in the record book at the end of the night. Go Raiders!

Big D, stop all this talk about turning this ship around this year. I had already determined that 6th is the best we can do this year. Now you start all this positive talk and I find myself thinking, yea we're not out of this yet......Your killing me Big D! How many times do I have to be hit over the head before I learn.
I hope you know I was being sarcastic. It is good to have some one with a positive out look at this time.
I'm still proceeding with caution with this team.

Thursday's games aren't looking like they are in our favor.
First we play at Detroit. It will take a near perfect game to win on the road.
UIC, the team on our heels host YSU so you can chalk up a win for the Flames.
Maybe Butler will beat CSU and at least keep us in front of the fast charging Vikings.
It would also help if UWM beats Loyola. If both CSU & Loyola lose it keeps our hopes of hosting a first round game alive.

Winning in Detroit is always hard, but I think we have a decent chance if we play like we did tonight. It seems like the teams we struggle with the most this year are teams that shoot the 3. Detroit is horrible from 3 pt range and they don't shoot well from the free throw line either. If we play decent defense and don't go into some huge shooting slump, I think we can knock them off. It can happen. We won there last year.
Go Raiders!
