We are in a funk so maybe a lineup make over will get us moving again. I've been screaming for a couple of week now to start Jordan so here would be my new starting lineup.
G Dashaun G Lorenzo G Zakee F Zach C Jordan
Hey, I may be reaching with Lorenzo but he plays hard and makes things happen when he is in the game. I don't want Everrett to start, to many TO's early in the game and Drew is struggling defensively. He is not strong enough to defend the power forwards and is to slow to defend the 3. And Jaron, well if he isn't going to shot then he isn't doing me much good on the floor.
I'm not saying Lorenzo should play 20 minutes but I do want to see PB shake things up.

I will be happy if we just use our bench alittle more for the last 6 games. I don't think we need to do anything drastic yet. I would like to rest our starters alittle more--only play them around 30 minutes. Give Taylor and Jordan their usual minutes and play Shine and Munroe at least 5+ minutes. It would be nice if we could actually play them for more than 30 seconds at a time so we can see what they can do.

The reality is that with our "core" seven players we are struggling lately so I to would be in favor of playing both Shine and Munroe more minutes. As Big D mentioned, even when they do play it is only a minute (s) at a time and many times it is for 30 seconds or so. I would like to see how both perform if give more minutes on the floor FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME ( 3-5 minutes).
Butler is almost exclucively a three point shooting team. I think Horan has taken less then 10 shots ALL YEAR that are not three's. If we don't defend the three's better then we did against Loyola it will be another long evening at the Nutter Center.
I think the reason the Horizon League is so inconsistent across the board (with Milwaakee and Green Bay being the exceptions) so due to the fact that the rest of us are young and thus their is no level of consistantancy. I realize that Milwaakue only graduates two players (McCants and Wright) but they still play almost all upperclassman. Four of their starters are juniors and two reserves are juniors. Green Bay's three starting guards are all seniors and that might explain why they are a bit more consistent then the rest of us in the Horizon League.
The bottom line is that we need tonights home game desperately. Lets focus on trying to win this one then worry about Thursday's games.

Don't know why folks seem to be down on Jaron. I think he brings some maturity and calmness to the floor. I also thing he makes some terrific interior passes to the big fella's. However, like most everyone I think he needs to shoot more. He seems to take only 1 or 2 shots per game. He's got a nice shot and he needs to go with it IMO. I'd play Spencer a little less if it were me. Let's hope they can get it together tonight.

I wonder after watching tonights game if maybe, just maybe, Jaron might find himself back in the starting lineup replacing Everrett this Thursday? Didn't Jaron start the second half tonight?

Everett fell hard on his elbow in the end of the first half ... he did not start the second half, yet played a little later on.

Papa, do you think the reason he didn't play much the second half was because he was hurt to some degree? I hope it is not serious! I didn't even notice that he got hurt.

Everett got hurt with about 30 seconds left in the first half. They stopped the game for at least a minute. PB got really mad because he thought the ref heard him call for a timeout when he didn't - of course, he appologized when he saw that the ref stopped the game because Everett was laying on the floor in obvious pain. The reason PB was mad because DeShawn and Zakee were on a breakaway.
By the way, the episode was a little disheartening. I know PB maintains more of a "boss-employee" type of the relationship with the players, but even my wife noticed that he did not even attempt to check on Everett who was laying on the floor definately hurt, and then went straight to the locker room.
Everett had a brace on his elbow in the second half. I don't know if it affected his minutes. Hope he is ok today.
